Ein Polizist aus Greifswald muss ein Bußgeld zahlen, weil er offenbar persönliche Daten anderer aus dem Polizei-System abgerufen und weitergegeben hat. Nach Angaben des Landesdatenschutz-Beauftragten Schmidt ist ein entsprechendes Verfahren jetzt vor dem Amtsgericht Schwerin abgeschlossen worden.Telefonnummern, Adressen und andere persönliche Angaben aus polizeilichen Meldesystemen soll der Polizist vor rund fünf Jahren an Rechtsextreme weitergegeben haben. Ein Vorwurf: Der Beamte soll die Betroffenen in Sozialen Medien mit diesen Informationen konfrontiert haben, sie ihnen quasi unter die Nase gerieben haben, auch weil sie offenbar der linken Szene angehörten. Die Staatsanwaltschaft, so Landes-Datenschützer Sebastian Schmidt, habe allerdings keine strafbare Handlung nachweisen können. Deshalb habe seine Behörde ein Bußgeld-Verfahren eingeleitet. Der Polizist habe zunächst Widerspruch eingelegt. An diesem Mittwoch habe der Beamte diesen Widerspruch dann aber in einer Verhandlung vor dem Amtsgericht Schwerin zurückgezogen. Das Bußgeld über knapp 800 Euro sei rechtskräftig. Die Summe fällt nach NDR Informationen relativ gering aus, weil die geahndeten Vorfälle auch durch dazwischen liegende Ermittlungen der Staatsanwaltschaft schon länger zurückliegen.

Mehr als 200 Menschen in Großbritannien nach Krawallen verurteilt

Nach einem Messerangriff auf Kinder in Southport kam es in Großbritannien zu gewaltvollen Ausschreitungen. Seitdem wurden 1.280 Menschen festgenommen und 200 verurteilt. Mehr als 200 Menschen sind bisher im Zusammenhang mit den rechtsradikalen Ausschreitungen in mehreren britischen Städten verurteilt worden. In den meisten Fällen sprachen die Gerichte Haftstrafen aus, wie eine Analyse der britischen Nachrichtenagentur PA ergab. Von den insgesamt 202 Verurteilten müssen 193 ins Gefängnis. Die höchste Strafe erhielt ein 48-jähriger Mann aus Kingston upon Hull im Nordosten Englands. Er gestand vor Gericht seine Teilnahme an gewalttätigen Ausschreitungen, versuchte Brandstiftung sowie rassistisch motivierte Sachbeschädigung und wurde zu sechs Jahren Haft verurteilt. Der jüngste Verurteilte war ein 13-jähriger Junge aus Manvers, der zusammen mit einer Gruppe Wurfgeschosse auf ein Hotel warf, in dem Migranten untergebracht waren. Er muss nun für ein Jahr richterlich erlassene Auflagen erfüllen. VG zu Brandenburger Wahlkampfsendung – FDP zu irre­le­vant, um ein­ge­laden zu werden

Der RBB hat den Spitzenkandidaten der Brandenburger FDP nicht zur großangelegten Wahlkampfsendung eingeladen. Die Begründung, dass die FDP weder derzeit im Landtag sitzt noch in Umfragen über fünf Prozent kommt, sei ausreichend, so das VG. Die FDP ist vorerst mit ihrem Versuch gescheitert, gerichtlich eine Teilnahme an einer Fernsehsendung zum brandenburgischen Landtagswahlkampf zu erzwingen. Das Verwaltungsgericht (VG) in Potsdam hat einen entsprechenden Eilantrag des FDP-Landesverbandes Brandenburg abgewiesen, erklärte ein Sprecher (Beschl. v. 04.09.2024, Az. VG 11 L 733/24).  (…) Maßgeblich für die Entscheidung war nach Angaben des Gerichts das Gesamtkonzept des RBB für die Berichterstattung über den Wahlkampf. Demnach waren in die Sendung die Spitzenkandidaten derjenigen Parteien eingeladen worden, “die derzeit im Landtag Brandenburg vertreten sind, sowie die Spitzenkandidaten derjenigen Parteien, die in den Meinungsumfragen stabil über fünf Prozent liegen”. Beide Kriterien treffen auf die FDP derzeit nicht zu.  Die vom RBB zugrunde gelegten Auswahlkriterien seien nicht zu beanstanden, erklärte der Sprecher des VG. “Die verfassungsrechtlich verbürgte Chancengleichheit der politischen Parteien im Wahlkampf verlange keine formale Gleichbehandlung, sondern lasse Raum dafür, der unterschiedlichen Bedeutung der Parteien in angemessener Weise Rechnung zu tragen.”

Streit um Onlinedienst – Sperrung von X in Brasilien bestätigt

Der Oberste Gerichtshof in Brasilien bestätigt die Sperrung der Social-Media-Plattform X. Die Richter werfen dem Dienst vor, nicht entschlossen genug gegen die Verbreitung von Hassrede und Fake News vorzugehen. Die Mehrheit eines fünfköpfigen Gremiums des brasilianischen Obersten Gerichtshofs hat die Entscheidung des Richters Alexandre de Moraes bestätigt, die Social-Media-Plattform X in Brasilien zu sperren. Am Freitag hatte de Moraes, Richter am Obersten Gericht, angeordnet, die Plattform des Tech-Milliardärs Elon Musk solle seine Geschäftstätigkeit im nach Einwohnern siebtgrößten Land der Welt sofort und vollständig einstellen.Musk habe “völlige Missachtung der brasilianischen Souveränität und insbesondere der Justiz” gezeigt, begründete de Moraes die Entscheidung. Elon Musk schrieb auf seiner Plattform, die Quelle Nummer 1 für die Wahrheit werde damit geschlossen. De Moraes nannte er einen bösen Diktator, der sich als Richter verkleidet habe. (…) De Moraes hatte im April Ermittlungen gegen Musk eingeleitet und ihm vorgeworfen, illegale Accounts wieder aktiviert zu haben. Musk warf dem Richter daraufhin Zensur vor.In der Folge kündigte Musk an, die X-Vertretung in Brasilien zu schließen, weil er um die Sicherheit der Mitarbeiter fürchte. Am Donnerstag dann setzte de Moraes Musk eine 24-Stunden Frist, erneut einen Rechtsvertreter für X einzusetzen und ordnete dann die Sperrung von X an, als Musk die Frist verstreichen ließ.

Newcastle far-right Twitter user ‘celebrated’ Nazis and white supremacist mass murderers

Nathan Thompson, of Newcastle, admitted inciting racial hatred offences on Twitter, A social media user who celebrated Adolf Hitler, Nazi Germany, white supremacist mass murderers and promoted extremist right wing material has been spared prison. In July last year, counter terrorism police became aware of two Twitter accounts being operated by Nathan Thompson which were being used to disseminate far right material. As a result, his home was searched and a phone of his seized. One of the Twitter accounts had 584 followers and the other account had 51 followers. Angus MacDonald, prosecuting, told Newcastle Crown Court: “Both accounts showed he holds or held a right wing or racist mindset.” He said retweets and some tweets over a four month sample period between April and July last year contained anti-immigration, white supremacist, racist, anti-Jewish, anti-Islam, anti-LGBTQ plus and pro Nazi and Hitler material, including support for two mass killers. As well as the material from Twitter, the court heard police recovered “other material relevant to his mindset” and of a “right wing ideology”. He had carried out searches on his phone for white supremacist Brenton Tarrant, who killed people at mosques in New Zealand in 2019 and neo-Nazi Anders Breivik, who killed 77 people in Norway in 2011. A notepad found in his bedroom also had various notes and drawings, including reference to Jewish people and “KK”, which Mr MacDonald said was “presumably a reference to the white supremacist group’. When he was arrested, Thompson, 25, of Whickham View, Newcastle, denied being involved with any right wing organisation and said his posts were a legitimate expression of free speech. The court heard the posts were watched and shared hundreds of times.

White Supremacist Jeremy Skibicki Sentenced to Life for Murdering Four Indigenous Women in Canada

Jeremy Skibicki, a self-proclaimed white supremacist, has been sentenced to four consecutive life terms for the brutal murders of four Indigenous women in Winnipeg, Canada. The killings, which took place in 2022, have deeply shaken the First Nation community and ignited national outrage. Skibicki, 37, showed no remorse as the sentence was handed down on August 28th, following his conviction for the racially motivated killings and the subsequent abuse of his victims’ corpses. The victims, all Indigenous women, were tragically vulnerable members of their communities. Skibicki’s crimes targeted those who were already marginalized, amplifying the horror of his actions. The women—Morgan Harris, 39, Marcedes Myran, 26, Rebecca Contois, 24, and a fourth, as yet unidentified woman, known as Mashkode Bizhiki’ikwe, or Buffalo Woman—were all killed between March and May of 2022. Buffalo Woman, named by Indigenous elders, was honored during the trial with a buffalo head placed on a red cloth near the prosecutors as a symbol of respect and remembrance. Skibicki met two of his victims in homeless shelters, where their vulnerability made them easy prey for his calculated brutality. The community’s grief is compounded by the fact that the remains of these women have yet to be found. A search is planned for later this year at a landfill site in Winnipeg, where authorities hope to recover and honor the remains of these women. Skibicki’s Disturbing Past and Heinous Crimes Skibicki’s background revealed a disturbing affinity for far-right ideologies and racist beliefs. His social media presence was riddled with antisemitic and misogynistic content, and he openly expressed his white supremacist views. These views fueled his violent actions, leading to the deaths of four innocent women. Throughout the trial, Skibicki’s defense attempted to attribute his actions to schizophrenia, claiming that he believed he was hearing divine commands to commit the murders. However, this defense was not enough to mitigate the severity of his crimes or the impact they have had on the victims’ families and communities.
