Pro-Life-Bewegung : Nach rechts offen

Identitarian Leader Martin Sellner and Violent Italian Neo-Nazi Guido Taietti Scheduled to Appear at American White Supremacist Conference

Notorious racist Jared Taylor is inviting two special guests to his annual November gathering. One of Europe’s most notorious advocates for ethnic cleansing, Martin Sellner and violent neo-Nazi Guido Taietti are scheduled to speak at this year’s white supremacist American Renaissance (AmRen) Conference at the Montgomery Bell Inn and Conference Center near Nashville, Tennessee from November 15-17, 2024. Both speakers have clear criminal histories, including acts of moral turpitude which seemingly would put into question their eligibility to be admitted into the United States. The AmRen conference they are planning to attend is a gathering of prominent eugenicists, white nationalists, and other extreme far-right figures that has been organized by Jared Taylor for the past 30 years. Taylor, who has fostered ties between disgraced eugenicists, members of the racist ‘Alt-Right,’ and extreme far-right leaders from Europe, is an influential figure in the far-right scene in the United States and abroad and appeared as one of the most influential white nationalist individuals in the transnational far-right network in a recent report published by the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism (GPAHE). Sellner, arguably the most prominent leader within the European Identitarian movement, will be traveling to the U.S. to deliver a lecture titled “Remigration — A Hope for Europe,” expounding on the theory that involves mass deportation of migrants and ethnic minorities back to their supposed “home countries.” Remigration has long been purported by Identitarians and their allies, even political parties like Alternative Für Deutschland (Alternative for Germany, AfD), which is under surveillance by the German authorities, as a “solution” to the apparent “Great Replacement” of white people in European countries. The “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory alleges a conspiracy to “replace” the “native” European population of Western countries with non-white migrants. Believers in the “Great Replacement” have engaged in serious and targeted mass violence. American Renaissance is no stranger to the idea of “remigration,” as it recently celebrated the mainstreaming of the term, calling it a “necessary” policy “if the West is to be saved.” Sellner’s presence at the conference is concerning for a plethora of reasons. He once belonged to a neo-Nazi group called “Stolz und Frei” (Proud and Free), and was mentored by Gottfried Küssel, who was imprisoned twice in Austria for “Nazi revivalism.” In 2006, Sellner admitted to sticking a swastika poster on a synagogue in Baden bei Wien, Austria, and was mandated to community service as penalty. His rise to fame came during his time as the de-facto leader and founder of Identitäre Bewegung Österreich (Identitarian Movement Austria, IBÖ), part of the transnational white nationalist movement Generation Identity (GI), until he announced his “retirement” from IB in February 2023, although he is still active on the scene and described as a spokesperson. (Sellner claimed that he would concentrate on the “information war” instead).  He is a relentless propagator of the Great Replacement conspiracy theory and uses this racist framework as the basis for his activism. Consistent with the conspiracy theory, Sellner and GI focus primarily on the baseless notion of “Islamization,” the idea that Muslims are taking over the culture of traditionally “white” countries, and purports that all non-white and non-Christian citizens, migrants, or residents should be remigrated.  In 2017, Sellner fired two shots at an alleged attacker at a metro station in Vienna, apparently acting in “self-defense.” He was subsequently banned from possessing weapons in Austria. Sellner most infamously received a nearly $1,700 donation from the Christchurch mass murderer in 2018. The killer also donated money to two other GI branches in France. Sellner and the shooter were reported to have exchanged emails, and even invited each other to visit their home countries. Generation Identity symbols have been banned in Austria.

How to Support What Remains of Russian Civil Society

Amid ever-tightening authoritarianism in Russia, it is vital that external actors support regional journalism and independent initiatives as vehicles for future democratic change. (…) A substantial number of independent and democratically focused initiatives and organisations are still active across the country, working to tackle societal issues through civic engagement. They deserve recognition and support. However, many of their activities remain under the radar and are not easily discernible from the outside. Due to the harsh political pressure they face, more politicised initiatives have curtailed their visibility or gone underground, with information about their work being shared through closed channels. This presents a challenge for anyone wishing to support or collaborate with them. Furthermore, direct backing from abroad poses a significant risk for initiatives on the Russian side. The primary assistance external actors can offer at present takes the form of tools, software, security, training and ensuring that independent Russian voices are included in discussions on global matters. It is also vital to facilitate communication and experience-sharing among regional actors inside the country. The Russian leadership will view this as a hostile move, but a stronger civil society, equipped with effective watchdogs and professional journalism, will ultimately benefit the citizens of Russia as well as its neighbours. The interference of the Russian state in Western societies serves only to sow discord and undermine the institutions that uphold democracy and the rule of law. External actors should aim to bolster processes that promote self-determination and justice for the people of Russia. (…) The Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies has produced an evidence-based report mapping the landscape of independent initiatives in Russia since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This map is dynamic and could help attune external support for this environment. The primary means of restoring a rules-based security order in Europe continues to be military, political and financial backing for Ukraine, alongside repressive measures and military deterrence against Russia’s aggressive policies. However, this additional, albeit smaller, tool should also be considered and utilised.

Retired Gen. Mark Milley Calls Trump ‘A Total Fascist’

The former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Trump administration said the former president “is now the most dangerous person to this country.” Retired Army Gen. Mark Milley, who served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, now says Trump is a “total fascist” and “fascist to the core,” according to a forthcoming book by Bob Woodward, the famed Watergate journalist. “He is the most dangerous person ever,” Milley told Woodward for his book “War,” according to The Guardian. “I had suspicions when I talked to you about his mental decline and so forth, but now I realize he’s a total fascist. He is now the most dangerous person to this country.” “A fascist to the core,” Milley said. Part of Milley’s warning about Trump revolves around the former president’s promise to get revenge on his perceived political enemies. Trump has frequently told his supporters on the campaign trail: “I am your retribution.” Milley, who clashed with Trump in the White House and who has since been publicly critical of the current Republican presidential nominee, told Woodward that he’s afraid of being recalled from retirement to be court-martialed if Trump wins the election next month.

‘Rape,’ ‘Dumb Women’ And ‘Bad Genes’: Inside Trump’s Week Of Unhinged Rants

The GOP presidential nominee is dialing up hateful rhetoric just weeks before Election Day. Even by the usual Donald Trump standards, this week was bonkers. The Republican presidential nominee went on unhinged, racist rants against women and immigrants, denigrated one of the largest majority-Black cities in the U.S., threatened news networks with retaliation and spread falsehoods about critical assistance to people devastated by back-to-back hurricanes that ravaged several states. The former president flooded the zone with so many ridiculous and offensive things that individual comments struggled to break through the noise. Some Republicans pushed back against a few of the most outrageous lies, without calling Trump out, while the overwhelming volume of garbage forced the media to move on. (…) Trump has long used hostile rhetoric against immigrants. Last year, for example, he said migrants were “poisoning the blood” of America, dehumanizing language first used by dictator Adolf Hitler in Germany. On Thursday, he also defended calling them rapists, a claim he first made when he launched his 2016 presidential campaign. “That’s right, I used the word ‘rape.’ They raped our country,” Trump, who was himself found legally liable for sexual abusing writer E. Jean Carroll, said of migrants during a speech at the Detroit Economic Club. Research indicates that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than native- born citizens and that there is no correlation between an increase in undocumented people and a rise in crime. Trump veered into bizarre tangents during the same address, which ran two hours, as he discussed the economy, the cost of living and the price of groceries.

Victoria police officer suspended over alleged Nazi salutes and ‘Heil Hitler’ comments

The female sergeant, a veteran of 40 years in the force, allegedly made banned gesture on Tuesday and Wednesday in front of colleagues. The Victoria police chief commissioner has apologised to the Jewish community after a veteran sergeant allegedly performed a Nazi salute to colleagues at the police academy twice this week. The 65-year-old woman was suspended with pay on Friday evening while police launched a criminal investigation into the alleged incidents, which included her allegedly saying “Heil Hitler” on both occasions, Shane Patton said. The woman has been in the police force for 40 years and was recently posted in the people development command training centre, Patton said. On Tuesday the sergeant allegedly approached two employees, performed the Nazi salute and said “Heil Hitler”, Patton said. The sergeant allegedly again used the salute and phrase on Wednesday while at a debrief with a recruit squad and an instructor.
