Kahlon has long been close with the company’s leadership and runs his own firm that acts as a middleman for wealthy investors looking to buy shares of SpaceX. SpaceX keeps its full ownership structure secret. It was previously reported that some Chinese investors had bought indirect stakes in SpaceX, investing in middleman funds that in turn owned shares in the rocket company. The new testimony describes direct investments that suggest a closer relationship with SpaceX.

Federal Judge Rules Sigal Chattah Unlawfully Served as Nevada’s U.S. Attorney

A federal judge ruled Tuesday that Sigal Chattah, a Trump loyalist and appointee, has been unlawfully serving as Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada since late July. U.S. District Judge David Campbell, appointed by former President George W. Bush, concluded that Chattah’s continued service after her 120-day interim appointment expired stemmed from a series of manipulative personnel moves that violated the Federal Vacancies Reform Act (FVRA). “The FVRA is a carefully crafted assertion of Congress’s power under Article II, section 2, clause 2 of the Constitution,” Campbell wrote. “Its purpose would be defeated if the Executive Branch – the very branch Congress was trying to constrain – could choose whomever it wanted, whenever it wanted, and fill the vacancy simply by declaring that person to be first assistant.” The ruling is the second time within two months that a federal court has struck down the Trump administration’s efforts to keep a hand-picked loyalist in power without Senate confirmation. In August, a judge in New Jersey ruled that Alina Habba had been illegally serving as U.S. Attorney there under a nearly identical scheme. Campbell underscored that Congress never intended for the executive branch to reshuffle staff to extend control over top prosecutorial offices. “Defendants’ motions are granted to the extent they seek disqualification of Ms. Chattah from supervising their criminal prosecutions,” Campbell added. “Ms. Chattah is disqualified from supervising these cases or any attorneys in the handling of these cases.”  The decision comes the same day Reuters published an exclusive report showing that Chattah, while unlawfully in office, urged voter-fraud probes designed to help Republicans and sought to shield GOP operatives implicated in Nevada’s fake elector scheme. Actions that, taken together, underscore how Trump’s allies sought to weaponize federal prosecutors to advance partisan goals.

Mitte März hatte Ungarn ein Gesetz verabschiedet, womit LGBTIQ-Versammlungen untersagt sind. Die Menschen gehen trotzdem auf die Straße. Trotz eines Verbots der ungarischen Behörden haben am Samstag tausende Menschen an einer Pride Parade in der Stadt Pécs im Süden des Landes teilgenommen. Der Demonstrationszug mit etwa 7000 bis 8000 Menschen setzte sich am Nachmittag im Zentrum der Stadt in Bewegung, wie AFP-Reporter berichteten und eine AFP-Zählung ergab. „Ich bin hier, weil diese Demonstration leider nicht mehr nur die LGBTQ-Gemeinschaft betriff, sondern die Einschränkung unserer grundsätzlichen Menschenrechte“, sagte der 18-jährige Student Bence Toth der Nachrichtenagentur AFP. Die Menge führte viele Regenbogenflaggen mit sowie Schilder mit regierungskritischen Aufschriften wie „Ungarn ist eine Diktatur“. Die Organisatoren hatten das Verbot umgangen, indem sie statt einer LGBTQ-Demonstration eine „Versammlung gegen die Überbevölkerung wilder Tiere, verantwortlich für und Opfer von zahlreichen Verkehrsunfällen“ angemeldet hatten. Die englische Abkürzung LGBTQ steht für lesbisch, schwul, bisexuell, transgender und queer.

War Neonazi als Ordner bei AfD-Parteiveranstaltung im Westerwald?

Bei einem Bürgerdialog der AfD mit dem Abgeordneten Joachim Paul im Westerwald war ein Neonazi mutmaßlich als Ordner im Einsatz. Das legt Bildmaterial nahe, das dem SWR vorliegt. Stockum-Püschen, am 5. September: In dem Ort in der Verbandsgemeinde Westerburg lädt der AfD-Kreisverband Westerwald zum Bürgerdialog. Hauptredner an diesem Tag ist der AfD-Landtagsabgeordnete Joachim Paul. Im Umfeld der Veranstaltung findet eine Gegendemo statt. Für die AfD sind Ordner mit gelben Armbändern im Einsatz. Einer dieser Männer mit gelbem “Ordner”-Band ist besonders auffällig: Er trägt einen Pullover mit der Aufschrift “The white Race” (“Die weiße Rasse”). Das zeigen Fotos, die dem Westerwälder Verein “Demos” vorliegen und die der SWR einsehen konnte. “Demos” steht für “Demokratie, Menschenrechte, Offenheit und Solidarität”. (…) Intensiv hat sich “Demos” den Instagram-Account des mutmaßlichen Ordners angeschaut. Der Mann postet ein Selfie im Umfeld der AfD-Veranstaltung in Stockum-Püschen und textet dazu: “Ordner zu sein is schon toll”. Ordner ist in den sozialen Medien aktiv In der Vergangenheit veröffentlichte er unter anderem ein Foto, das ihn in einem Shirt mit dem Aufdruck “Blood and Honour” und einem SS-Totenkopf zeigt. “Blood and Honour” ist ein rechtsextremes Musik-Netzwerk, das in Deutschland seit 2001 verboten ist. Auch die öffentliche Verwendung des SS-Totenkopfes ist strafbar. Unter dem geposteten Bildmaterial des Mannes befinden sich zudem Symboliken der als rechtsextremistisch eingestuften Partei “Der Dritte Weg” sowie so genannte Memes mit Bezügen zur NS-Zeit – etwa ein Bild, das Adolf Hitler schlafend in einer Hängematte zeigt. In einem weiteren Meme fordert ein Wehrmachtssoldat einen Anhänger der LGBTQ-Bewegung, die in rechtsextremen Kreisen als Feindbild gilt, dazu auf, Gas einzuatmen (…) Noch eine weitere Person im Umfeld der AfD-Veranstaltung hat mutmaßlich rechtsextreme Bezüge. Auf dem Bildmaterial ist ein Mann mit Kamera und orangener Weste mit der Aufschrift “Presse” zu sehen. Nach SWR-Recherchen hat er in der Vergangenheit an Veranstaltungen der Partei “Der Dritte Weg” teilgenommen.

Andere Festzeltbesucher alarmierten am Donnerstagabend den Sicherheitsdienst, wie die Polizei mitteilte. Beamte nahmen die vier Verdächtigen im Alter von 26 Jahren daraufhin vorläufig fest. Sie wurden wegen des Verwendens von Kennzeichen verfassungswidriger Organisationen angezeigt und anschließend wieder entlassen. Das ist nicht der erste Vorfall auf der Wiesn: Bereits am ersten Wochenende war ein 25 Jahre alter Tourist aus Italien angezeigt worden, weil er in einem Festzelt den Hitlergruß gezeigt haben soll

Details The investigation established that the perpetrators created a fake account, posing as a 16-year-old girl offering sexual contact, and arranged a meeting with the man. At the meeting place, the teenagers attacked the Ukrainian man, beat him, shaved his head, and drew Nazi symbols on his face, recording the incident on video for additional humiliation. The police note that the attack had ideological motives, but do not specify what the teenagers considered the victim’s fault.

Stephen Farrea is affiliated with the Nationalist Social Club-131, which demonstrates against drag queen story hours for children. A Rhode Island man involved with a New England-based neo-Nazi group that protests “drag queen story hours” and claims they promote pedophilia has pleaded no contest to possessing child pornography. Stephen Farrea, 35, who has appeared at events for the Nationalist Social Club-131 and was arrested in 2022 while spreading white nationalist leaflets in East Providence, is now required to register as a sex offender. Farrea was arrested by Portsmouth police last year after detectives seized multiple electronic devices from his home at 37 Souza Way that contained sexually explicit images of children. Farrea pleaded not guilty and was ordered to stay away from children and the internet while out on bail. However, a few months ago, someone using TikTok and Discord recognized Farrea from live videos and online chat groups and contacted the Portsmouth police. (…) Farrea has been part of a movement with NSC-131, which the Anti-Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center classified as a neo-Nazi group. The men wear masks and khaki pants, and get attention by harassing people during “drag queen story hours,” painting graffiti, spreading leaflets, hanging banners praising white nationalism, and shouting slurs and waving Nazi flags during demonstrations. Farrea, a Rhode Island native, became involved with hate groups while he was a corporal in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, assigned to Fort Devens, in Massachusetts, according to military records obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request. At the time, Farrea posted on Discord, an online chat platform, with fellow members of the Identity Evropa hate group, about he planned to raise his infant daughter in the philosophy. His Marine service ended in 2019, after his posts and others by Identity Evropa were leaked by Unicorn Riot, an independent media nonprofit, and publicized by Huffington Post.
