Wie die Coburger Staatsanwaltschaft am Nachmittag in einer Pressemitteilung erklärte, hat sie die Ermittlungen gegen einen ehemaligen KZ-Wachmann eingestellt. Der beschuldigte 99-Jährige ist zwischenzeitlich gestorben. Woran der Mann genau starb, wollte Johannes Tränkle, der Sprecher der Staatsanwaltschaft, auf Anfrage nicht erklären. Das Ermittlungsverfahren galt dem Vernehmen nach als relativ weit fortgeschritten und der Beschuldigte als verhandlungsfähig. Beobachter gingen davon aus, dass die Erhebung der Anklage kurz bevor stand und der Prozess nächstes Jahr hätte stattfinden können. Es wäre einer der letzten Prozesse gegen einen mutmaßlichen NS-Täter geworden. Dem Mann aus dem Raum Coburg wurde vorgeworfen, von April 1943 bis Mai 1945 im Hauptlager in Ravensbrück Dienst getan und dadurch den Tod von Häftlingen erst ermöglicht zu haben. Es ging um mögliche Beihilfe zum Mord.

Bulgaria bans neo-Nazi event after public outcry

Authorities in Bulgaria on Saturday banned an annual torch-lit march in downtown Sofia in honor of a late general who led the pro-Nazi Union of Bulgarian National Legions during World War II. Hours before the event, the country’s chief prosecutor called on Sofia’s mayor and the interior minister “to ensure the preservation of public order and protection of the rights of the public ahead of the Lukov March.” The event has been condemned by human rights groups, political parties, and foreign embassies, which criticized the march organizers for promoting racism, xenophobia, and antisemitism. Nationalists gathered in front of the prosecutor’s office to protest the restrictive measures. Meanwhile, dozens of anti-fascist activists staged a rally against the nationalist event, insisting that neo-Nazis should be banned. A heavy police presence blocked any clashes between the two sides. Held annually since 2003, the march over the years has attracted nationalist admirers of Gen. Hristo Lukov, who supported Germany during World War II and was killed by an anti-fascist resistance movement. The general served as war minister from 1935 to 1938 and led the pro-Nazi Germany Union of Bulgarian Legions from 1942 until his death in 1943.

Was, bitte, kann noch schlimmer sein als die Erkenntnis, die jetzt bei Charlotte Knob­loch, der Präsidentin der IKG München, einsickern muss: dass sie nämlich jahrelang von einem Polizei-Leibwächter beschützt wurde, der es insgeheim witzig fand, in Chats zu schreiben, als Fahrziel sei ihm Dachau lieber als Auschwitz, weil man da »früher heimkomme«? Sein Chatpartner, so ist jetzt herausgekommen, erwiderte: »Aber nicht der, der den Ofen sauber machen muss.« Witze unter Bodyguards. Diesem Menschen war Charlotte Knob­lochs Leben anvertraut. Dieser Mensch, der in Chats offenbar mit »HH« für »Heil Hitler« grüßte und über Frau Knobloch auch noch schrieb: »Ich scheiß’ ihr vor die Tür, schön braun, mit Fähnchen«, genoss ihr Vertrauen. FRANCE’S most famous teenage Resistance fighter who captured 25 Nazis in World War Two has died aged 97. Simone Segouin passed away in the town of Courville-sur-Eure, France, on Tuesday, February 21. She was first acclaimed around the world in August 1944 when Hollywood director George Stevens filmed her with a submachine gun slung over her shoulder. Simone was 18 at the time and had just helped capture 25 German soldiers in her home village of Thivars, about 63 miles southwest of Paris. Days later, she was again hailed a hero after storming into Paris to help liberate the French capital from the Nazis. The woman’s fame was further cemented when she was snapped by legendary war photographer Robert Capa, who published the images in Life magazine the following month.

In their first public comments since they were unmasked, the Lawrences staunchly defended their actions. “The chat was so wholesome,” Katja Lawrence told the Nazi-promoting website Justice Report in an interview published on Monday. “It was mostly homeschooling moms that were lifting each other up when things got difficult.” In reality the content shared in the channel was deeply racist, including a lesson plan to mark the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. last month that described the assassinated civil rights leader as a “deceitful, dishonest, riot-inciting negro.”  The Lawrences blasted the mainstream media for “cherry-picking” the neo-Nazi aspects of their lesson plans, claiming that these were “just fun extras” they added to the regular curriculum they taught their four young children.
