Federal prosecutors laid out a case against Jordan Duncan, a Marine Corps veteran and federal defense contractor who became immersed in a secretive neo-Nazi group in the summer of 2020, describing an operative nicknamed “soldier” who was prized by his fellow extremists for his military expertise. The indictment against Duncan alleged that while serving in the Marine Corps 2d Radio Battalion at North Carolina’s Camp Lejeune, he “gathered a library of information, some military-owned and some publicly available, regarding various weaponry, to include firearms, explosives, and even nerve toxins.” The government presented evidence that Duncan shared the information with a handful of other young, white men who actively plotted an attack on the power grid that they hoped would plunge the country into chaos and provide cover for an assassination campaign. All of it, the government alleged, was for the purpose of launching a race war that would ultimately allow the formation of a white ethno-state. But when Duncan stood in a federal courtroom in Wilmington dressed in an orange jail jumpsuit and horn-rimmed glasses on Monday, the seven-year prison sentence meted out to him by a judge was for a firearms violation.

The history professor at New York University, who has warned extensively of the dictatorial threats posed by the Republican presidential nominee, used X (formerly Twitter) to comment on multiple controversial moments at the event. When speakers claimed that “they” (without explaining who “they” actually were) had tried to assassinate Trump, she responded: “The purpose of this is to conjure a threat environment sufficient to justify authoritarian action if they win. The new structure by the White House hails Trump and the white supremacists “he boldly stood to defend when they marched in Charlottesville, Virginia.” A second mysterious and satirical monument has appeared in the nation’s capital, this time a “tribute” to former President Donald Trump for referring to the white supremacists who marched in a 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, as “very fine people.” “The Donald J. Trump Enduring Flame” popped up early Monday a few blocks from the White House. Mounted on a faux cement block, it depicts a large bronze hand holding up a flaming tiki torch, a nod to the torches carried by the thousands of neo-Nazis and right-wing extremists who terrorized the Virginia town in a “Unite the Right” rally. (…) The 2017 rally in Charlottesville descended into hours of violence and chaos, as thousands of white supremacists and armed militia groups faced off with counterprotesters. Three people died, and dozens were treated for injuries. Several attendees were later indicted on felony charges for carrying flaming torches with the intent to intimidate. Then-President Trump, who has fanned white nationalism and far-right extremism for years, responded to the violence by claiming there were “very fine people” on both sides. Trump has since pushed back on this characterization of events, claiming he wasn’t talking specifically about white supremacists when he mentioned “very fine people.” It’s not clear, however, which attendees of the white supremacist rally he was describing as “very fine.”

BSW- und AfD-Politiker bei Burschenschaftstreffen zu Corona-Aufarbeitung

Bei einem Treffen eines Burschenschaftverbands in Jena sprachen auch Politiker über die Corona-Politik und deren Aufarbeitung. Allerdings waren nur Vertreter zweier Parteien unter den Diskutanten. Burschenschafter haben mit Politikern der AfD und des BSW bei einem Treffen der Allgemeinen Deutschen Burschenschaft in Jena über Aufarbeitung der Corona-Politik innerhalb von Parlamenten diskutiert. Mit dabei war nach Mitteilung des Verbands Friedrich Pürner. Der umstrittene frühere Leiter des Gesundheitsamts Aichach-Friedberg in Bayern, wurde bekannt, weil er Kritik an der Corona-Politik äußerte und danach versetzt wurde. Er ist nun BSW-Abgeordneter im Europaparlament und bestätigte der dpa seine Teilnahme. Auch der Thüringer AfD-Landtagsabgeordnete Jens Dietrich nahm an der Diskussion am Sonntag teil. Im Thüringer Landtag haben aktuell sowohl das BSW, unterstützt von einigen CDU-Abgeordneten, als auch die AfD einen Corona-Untersuchungsausschuss beantragt. (…) Die Allgemeine Deutsche Burschenschaft (ADB) zählt eigenen Angaben nach etwa 4.000 Mitglieder aus 27 Burschenschaften von 18 deutschen Hochschulorten. Betrugsvorwürfe gegen NRW-Politiker – AfD-Vorstand startet Ausschlussverfahren gegen Klaus Esser

Nach Vorwürfen um gefälschte Hochschulabschlüsse und Mitgliedermanipulation soll der Landtagsabgeordnete aus Düren die Partei verlassen. Die Landesspitze hat das Ausschlussverfahren nun auf den Weg gebracht – und findet deutliche Worte. Für den ehemaligen Landesvize Klaus Esser dürfte sein Ende innerhalb der Partei endgültig absehbar sein. Der AfD-Landesvorstand in Nordrhein-Westfalen hat ein sogenanntes Parteiausschlussverfahren gegen ihn jetzt offiziell auf den Weg gebracht. Der formale Antrag ist am vergangenen Freitag (25. Oktober) beim parteiinternen Landesschiedsgericht eingegangen, das darüber befinden muss. Hintergrund sind Betrugsvorwürfe gegen den 43-Jährigen, die durch die Berichterstattung unserer Redaktion öffentlich wurden. Esser soll für die Manipulation bei der Mitgliederaufnahme in seinem Dürener Kreisverband verantwortlich sein und außerdem Teile seines Lebenslaufs gefälscht haben, um parteiintern Karriere zu machen. Beides wird in dem Schreiben als Begründung für den Ausschluss angeführt. Esser habe mit der vorsätzlichen Täuschung über seine Qualifikation „im Zusammenhang mit der Bewerbung um eine entsprechend vergütete und für die Parteiorganisation absolut zentrale Arbeitsstelle“ nicht nur schwerwiegend gegen die Parteiordnung verstoßen, heißt es darin. Er habe der AfD auch nach außen hin „schweren Schaden zugefügt“, nicht nur materieller Art.

Stadtratsfraktion will Antrag im kommender Stadtratssitzung stellen Die AfD-Fraktion fordert mit einem Antrag in der kommenden Stadtratssitzung, dass der Oberbürgermeister darauf hinwirkt, dass in der internen und externen Kommunikation der Stadtverwaltung und der städtischen Eigenbetriebe keine sogenannte Gendersprache verwendet wird, heißt es in einer Mitteilung der AfD-Fraktion. Beim öffentlichen Schriftgebrauch soll sich ausschließlich an den Vorgaben des Rats für deutsche Rechtschreibung orientiert werden, fordert die Fraktion.

Far-right activist Tommy Robinson has been jailed for 18 months after admitting contempt of court by repeating false claims against a Syrian refugee. Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, admitted 10 breaches of a High Court order made in 2021, during a hearing at Woolwich Crown Court. Lawyers for the solicitor general accused the 41-year-old of “undermining” the rule of law. Passing sentence, Judge Mr Justice Johnson said the breaches of the injunction, which prevented Yaxley-Lenon from repeating the allegations, were not “accidental, negligent or merely reckless” and the custodial threshold was “amply crossed”. The hearing on Monday was the culmination of events that date back to October 2018. That month, a video went viral showing how Jamal Hijazi, a Syrian in West Yorkshire, had been attacked by another teenager at school. Yaxley-Lennon then posted his own response to one million Facebook followers alleging that his investigation had established that Mr Hijazi was a violent thug, a claim that was untrue. The Yaxley-Lennon video spread widely and the Syrian teenager and his family received death threats. Three years later, Mr Hijazi won £100,000 in damages when the High Court ruled Yaxley-Lennon’s claims against him had amounted to defamation. The court imposed an injunction on Yaxley-Lennon, banning him from making the false claims again. In February 2023, Yaxley-Lennon, who founded the long-defunct English Defence League (EDL), began repeating the claims and went on to post online a film claiming he had been “silenced” by the state. That film may have been viewed at least 47 million times. Eventually, this July, the anti-Islam activist showed the film to thousands of his supporters in London’s Trafalgar Square, saying he would not be silenced. The following day he left the country.

Der 41-Jährige gab demnach vor dem Woolwich Crown Court zu, gegen eine einstweilige Verfügung verstoßen zu haben, die nach einer erfolgreichen Verleumdungsklage im Jahr 2021 erlassen worden war.
