Künftig wird beim Borkumer Fest auf das Schlagen von Frauen verzichtet. Die Staatsanwaltschaft ermittelt nun gegen einen Täter und gegen die Polizei. Er gilt als höchster Feiertag auf Borkum: Seit über einem Jahrhundert wird das Klaasohm-Fest am 5. Dezember gefeiert. An diesem Tag verkleiden sich sieben Männer als winterliche Fabelwesen, geschmückt mit Tierpelzen und Möwenfedern. Ihr Ziel: Frauen mit Kuhhörnern auf den Po hauen. Abends versammeln sich Tausende in der Innenstadt, kehren in Kneipen ein und treffen sich nach der Frauenjagd um der Litfaßsäule im Ortskern. (…) Doch in diesem Jahr wird das Fest etwas anders ausfallen. Nach NDR-Recherchen und bundesweiter Empörung gelobt der veranstaltende Verein, Borkumer Jungens (VBJ), die Gewalt gegen Frauen nun zu unterlassen. „Wir als Gemeinschaft haben uns klar dazu entschieden, diesen Aspekt der Tradition hinter uns zu lassen.“ Man wolle sich nun auf das festlegen, was das Fest wirklich ausmacht: „den Zusammenhalt der Insulanerinnen und Insulaner“, teilte der Verein mit (…) Jetzt hat das Ganze auch juristische Konsequenzen. Die Staatsanwaltschaft Aurich teilte der taz auf Anfrage mit, nun in einem „Verfahren gegen unbekannte Täterschaft im Zusammenhang mit dem VBJ wegen des Verdachts der gefährlichen Körperverletzung“ zu ermitteln.Eigentlich müssen Behörden und Beamte des Polizeidienstes Straftaten ermitteln, dafür braucht es auch keine Anzeigen von mutmaßlichen Opfern. Die Polizei Borkum muss von Amts wegen ermitteln, weil das Schlagen mit dem Kuhhorn als Traditionspraxis der Polizeistation auf der Insel wohl bekannt ist. Falls die Polizei nicht ermittelt, stellt es nach Paragraf 258 StGB eine Strafvereitelung – nach Paragraf 258 a gar eine Strafvereitelung im Amt – dar. Die Freiheitsstrafe dafür beläuft sich auf sechs Monate bis zu fünf Jahren. Da die Schläge mit einer Waffe – dem Kuhhorn – besonders starke Verletzungen verursachen können, ist diese Praxis, eine schwere Körperverletzung, die erst nach 20 bis 30 Jahren verjährt. Die Polizei auf Borkum muss also alle Klaasohm-Feste der vergangenen Jahrzehnte aufarbeiten, was für die kleine Inselpolizei, die der Polizei Leer/Emden unterstellt ist, eine Mammutaufgabe wird. Ein Verfahren gegen den Bürgermeister, Jürgen Akkermann (parteilos), ebenfalls wegen Strafvereitelung im Amt, werde noch geprüft

“ZDF Magazin Royale” zu “#Nius” – #Böhmermann-Recherche lässt Reichelt “Vernichtung” befürchten

Jan Böhmermann heizt Julian Reichelt ein: Das “ZDF Magazin Royale” stieß in den Untiefen des Portals Nius auf offenbar rechtsextreme Verflechtung und Text-Klau. Eine Recherche des “ZDF Magazin Royale” von Jan Böhmermann wirft neue Fragen zum Internetportal “Nius” um den früheren “Bild”-Chefredakteur Julian Reichelt auf. Die Sendung (23 Uhr im ZDF, vorab in der Mediathek) enthüllt: Unter den Inhalten des Portals, das Deutschland nach rechts rücken will, sind auch Beiträge zu finden, die einer Frau aus dem direkten Umfeld der Identitären Bewegung zugeschrieben werden. Außerdem hat “Nius” Texte anderer Seiten wörtlich kopiert. Der Beitrag war mit Spannung erwartet worden, weil Reichelt deshalb bereits am Donnerstag an die Öffentlichkeit gegangen war: “Jan Böhmermann möchte Nius vernichten”, hatte er den angekündigten Beitrag kommentiert. Reichelt kannte die Recherchen bereits, weil Böhmermanns Redaktion ihm mit Fragen die Gelegenheit zur Stellungnahme gegeben hatte. Antworten bekam die Redaktion nicht. Reichelt selbst ging bereits in die Offensive und gab einzelne Informationen über eine “Kollegin” preis. In der Verbindung zu einer rechtsextremen Österreicherin sieht er offenbar das Potenzial, das zur angeblichen “Vernichtung” eingesetzt werden könnte. Auf “Nius” war ein Zusammenhang bisher nicht ersichtlich. Die Metadaten, der Code der Seiten, zeigte, dass dort Magdalena Menegus vielfach als Autorin hinterlegt ist. 73 Mal stieß die ZDF-Redaktion im “Nius”-Quellcode auf entsprechende Angaben mit dem Zusatz “extern”. (…) “Nius” gibt bei einem großen Teil der Artikel in der Autorenzeile nur “Redaktion” an. Die Böhmermann-Redaktion lud zur Analyse die Inhalte mit rund 10.000 Beiträgen komplett herunter und analysierte sie. Dabei stieß das “ZDF Magazin Royale” nicht nur auf die problematische Autorin, sondern auch auf Plagiate: In der Sendung wurden drei Fälle gezeigt, in denen “Nius” Texte wörtlich von anderen Portalen übernommen hat. Darunter waren auch zwei Beiträge von t-online aus dem Januar und dem Februar dieses Jahres.

Hungarian CIA reportedly spied on EU officials

Officials from EU anti-fraud office were allegedly followed, wiretapped and had their laptops hacked by Hungary’s intelligence agency. Hungary’s intelligence agency spied on EU officials visiting the country, searching their hotel rooms and recording their phone conversations, according to a bombshell report. A joint investigation by Direkt36 and De Tijd found Hungary’s Information Office (IH), Budapest’s equivalent of the CIA, targeted investigators at the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), which at one point was looking into a Hungarian company owned by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s son-in-law. The report by Hungarian investigative media center Direkt36 and Belgian newspaper De Tijd cited examples between 2015 and 2017 in which EU officials working for OLAF who had traveled to Hungary were physically followed during car journeys and had their phones tapped.

Cracks form in white nationalist Nick Fuentes’ ‘America First’ movement: ‘He’s a cult leader’ Infamous neo-Nazi influencer Nick Fuentes has been arrested and charged with battery, the Smoking Gun reports. According to police documents obtained by the Smoking Gun, the 26-year-old Holocaust-denying Fuentes was arrested after a woman claimed that he maced her and shoved her to the ground outside of his house in Illinois. “Marla Rose, a 57-year-old Berwyn resident, told cops that after seeing an online Fuentes post ‘in regards to women’s rights’ that declared, ‘Your body my choice,’ she decided to ‘record a video’ of Fuentes’s Berwyn property. While recording, Rose said, a female passerby ‘encouraged her to speak with Nicholas, so she…rang his front doorbell.'” Upon ringing the bell, Fuentes emerged from the house an immediately sprayed her with pepper spray and then pushed her down the stairs. Fuentes told police that he was “in fear for his life” after his “your body, my choice” declaration went viral and led to outrage among many women.

Neo-Nazi street attacks are making a comeback in Russia. Experts link it to 2000s nostalgia, Internet clout culture, and the war – #terror

A dark trend has returned to Russia: far-right nationalists sharing videos of brutal attacks on ethnic minorities and other “outsiders.” Each month, at least about 100 new clips of violence against migrants from the Caucasus and Central Asia, LGBTQ+ people, and homeless people appear online. According to experts interviewed by the RFE/RL project Kavkaz.Realii, this revival of neo-Nazi and skinhead culture goes hand in hand with the Russian authorities’ ubiquitous wartime propaganda. Meduza shares an abridged translation of the outlet’s reporting. The video starts with the victim already sitting on the ground, and the attackers surrounding him and kicking him. Then the victim manages to get up and starts running away, but the attackers knock him down again and continue kicking. Five people take part in the beating, including the cameraman. The victim is a large middle-aged man. His face isn’t shown. The description refers to him as a ‘khach’ [a slur for people from the Caucasus]. The video is being spread by the gang White Boys Nevograd. This description is from a post by the Telegram channel Nazi Video Monitoring Project, which tracks online clips of racist violence in Russia. The post is referring to a video published on November 26 that shows an attack that presumably took place in St. Petersburg. The monitoring channel doesn’t share the video itself, but it does post screenshots showing a man being beaten in the snow. “If you know the identity of the attackers or the victim, recognize the location of the crime, or have any other information about this incident, please let us know,” the channel wrote. (…) At the same time, even as law enforcement cracks down on radical groups, legal nationalist organizations have gained more visibility. The most prominent among them is the group Russian Community, which enjoys public support from Investigative Committee head Alexander Bastrykin as well as other influential politicians and officials. “The violent videos are generally made by teenagers, usually between 14 and 20 years old,” Sergeev explained. “Meanwhile, most members of Russian Community are middle-aged people who are dissatisfied with their lives. But there are some examples of interaction: in Nizhny Novgorod, the local branch of Russian Community tried to form a youth division out of young neo-Nazis. In Chelyabinsk, the Russian Community took the neo-Nazi teenagers who had started a violent riot at Educational Center No. 5 under its wing. A neo-Nazi killer who applied for parole just 13 years after killing 77 people in twin attacks will remain behind bars, despite the court noting positive changes.    A Norwegian court Wednesday rejected parole for the right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik, 45, with his lawyer claiming it was ‘not a surprise’.    Oystein Storrvik said the decision to reject conditional freedom for Breivik was a predictable outcome, regardless of the fact the court did recognise ‘positive evolutions’ for his client. On July 22, 2011, Breivik set off a truck bomb near government offices in Oslo, killing eight people, before heading to the island of Utoya.  There, disguised as a police officer, he shot dead 69 people, mostly teens, attending a Labour Party youth-wing summer camp. He said he had killed his victims because they embraced multiculturalism.    Breivik was sentenced in 2012 to 21 years in prison, which at the time was Norway’s harshest sentence.  But the sentence can be extended as long as he is considered a threat to society.

Anonymous Neo-Nazi X User Exposed as JP Morgan Chase Exec in Bombshell Report

His account represents an uptick in the presence of supremacist and neo-Nazi content online, particularly on X. A regional vice president of JP Morgan Chase has been revealed as one of the many individuals identified to be operating neo-Nazi accounts on X (formerly Twitter). Four individuals behind popular white supremacist accounts on X were identified to the public in a bombshell report released on Wednesday by the Texas Observer. These individuals include Cyan Cruz, a 40-year-old marketing professional who runs the @TheOfficial1984 account; Michael Gramer, a 42-year-old retired mechanical engineer with property in Galveston who is on X under the handle @9mm_SMG; Robert “Bobby” Thorne, a 35-year-old who serves as vice president at JP Morgan Chase in Plano and runs the X account @Noble1945 and John Anthony Provenzano, a 30-year-old Virginia resident working at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, Maryland, who runs the account @utism_ (formerly known as JohnnyBullzeye). The accounts boasted a collective 500,000 followers at their peak and have all either lived in, actively live in or reportedly own property in Texas, where X operations are based.
