CNN anchor Jake Tapper torched Dilbert creator Scott Adams over a racist rant Tapper said was “clearly preaching white supremacy” and slammed Elon Musk for weighing in on Adams’ side. Adams has been ostentatiously blowing himself up since last Wednesday, when a racist rant — in which he told viewers of his YouTube show “Based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give to White people is to get the hell away from Black people” — went viral, and which he continued to expound upon even as newspapers dropped his comic strip along with blistering condemnations. (…) SCOTT ADAMS (VIDEOCLIP): So if, you know, nearly half of all Blacks are not okay with white people, according to this poll. Not according to me, according to this poll. That’s a hate group. The best advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from Black people. JAKE TAPPER: A fairly racist statement, as blatant as it gets. CNN’s Oliver Darcy watching all of this. You know, Oliver, Adams, who we should note, came on The Lead in the early Trump era a few times. He’s been trending more and more hard right, for years now into some really bigoted terrain. But I guess this apparently crossed the line into self-immolation.

The social media boss recently reinstated Patriotic Alternative, who are known for spreading hateful views against minorities and members of the LGBTQ+ community. At this point, we shouldn’t really be surprised when a flock of neo-Nazis are welcomed back into Twitter’s embrace. Recently, we had the return of the notorious face of gen z neo-Nazis, Nick Fuentes, who managed to somehow squirm his way back onto the platform. But it seems lightning has struck twice as Twitter chief Elon Musk has offered yet another digital pardon to a group with extremist far-right views – British group Patriotic Alternative. The group, and its leaders, had their accounts suspended for terms of service violations in December 2020. However, thanks to Musk’s reinstatement, the group will now be allowed to spread their harmful rhetoric and ideologies, targeting potential recruits. Mark Collett, the group’s boss and self-proclaimed admirer of Adolf Hitler, has a blue tick – a form of verification that an account is authentic, which back before Musk’s arrival were given out to notable public figures, but can now be bought for between £8 a month and £115 a year. Collett has tweeted about race and culture since he was reinstated on February 15 after the ban that spanned more than two years. Twitter also appears to have restored his former followers (55,000 users currently subscribe to his Tweets on the platform). Collett has been praising Patriotic Alternative’s public protests against migrants and drag queens. He received more than 2,000 likes for posting a photograph of small children in a French primary school, saying: “The great replacement is NOT a conspiracy theory.”

Schuldig gesprochen, aber keine Strafe. Der AfD-Ak­ti­vist Jo­han­nes Nor­mann hat am 23. Ju­ni 2022 über Twit­ter ei­nen Post wei­ter­ge­lei­tet, auf dem ein Ha­ken­k­reuz zu se­hen ist. In ei­ner Ver­hand­lung vor dem Amts­ge­richt Al­zenau sprach Rich­ter Tors­ten Kem­me­rer den nicht vor­be­straf­ten 54-jäh­ri­gen Möm­b­ri­ser schul­dig, dass er ein Sym­bol ver­fas­sungs­feind­li­cher Or­ga­ni­sa­tio­nen ver­b­rei­tet hat­te. Den­noch kam der Mann oh­ne Stra­fe da­von. Mit seinem Urteil blieb Kemmerer zwischen den Anträgen von Anklage und Verteidigung: Normanns Anwalt Thomas Filler hatte auf Freispruch plädiert. Staatsanwalt Jürgen Bundschuh forderte, den gegen Normann erlassenen Strafbefehl aufrechtzuerhalten und den Mömbriser zu einer Geldstrafe von 70 Tagessätzen à 15 Euro zu verurteilen (…) Seinen Ursprung hatte der jetzt vor Gericht gelandete Tweet in Niedersachsen und war wohl als gezielte Provokation gedacht. Enthält er doch den Zusatz »Bin mal auf den Shitstorm gespannt?«. Die Reaktion kam prompt: Ein Leser machte einen Screenshot von dieser Seite und erstattete Anzeige. Das Original war da aber schon nicht mehr online: Nachdem Normann die Nachricht weitergeleitet hatte, war sie wieder aus dem Netz verschwunden. Normann selbst kann sich seiner Darstellung nach auch nicht mehr an sie erinnern. »Höchstens neutral« und ohne Likes oder Kommentar habe er die Nachricht retweeted. (…) Die Urteilsbegründung von Amtsrichter Kemmerer kommentiert Normann mit einem Lachen. Ernst wird er erst wieder, als ihm für sein respektloses Verhalten ein Ordnungsgeld angedroht wird. Kemmerer wehrt sich darin auch gegen die Unterstellung, ein Amtsrichter könne politisch gesteuert werden. Dem Angeklagten hält er zugute, dass er ohne nachzudenken aus einer Dummheit heraus gehandelt habe. Eine Strafe sei in einem solchen Fall nicht zwingend erforderlich. Nicht zu erkennen sei allerdings, dass Normann aus der Sache gelernt habe.

Linksextremistin Lina E. (28), aktuell wegen Bildung einer kriminellen Vereinigung vor dem Oberlandesgericht Dresden, polarisiert bei Linken und Rechten zugleich. Die rechte Szenegröße Sven L. fuhr im Mai 2021 mit Bekannten zum Chemnitzer Frauenknast, wo E. in U-Haft sitzt, und stiftete Mitinsassen zu Gewalttaten gegen die Leipzigerin an. Der Fall landete am Amtsgericht Chemnitz. “Gebt Lina E. eine Abreibung. Sie darf nie wieder dieses Gefängnis als lebende Person verlassen”, schrie Sven E. durch einen Leitkegel in Richtung JVA. Drei Begleiter waren ebenfalls vor Ort, filmten die Aktion. (…) Auf dem Video zu hören ist, wie Insassen zurückrufen, den Wortlaut wohl aber nicht verstehen konnten. Lina E.s Anwälte wandten sich besorgt ans Gericht und werteten den Aufruf als “Morddrohung”. Das Quartett kam mit einem blauen Auge davon. Sven L. muss 1200 Euro Geldauflage zahlen, dann wird das Verfahren gegen ihn eingestellt.
