Just 13 days after his 18th birthday, a teen from Kentucky with alleged ties to a white supremacist group made a phone call to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office, threatening to blow them up, officials said. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) stated that on August 16, at around 1:30 p.m., their dispatch received a call from an unknown number. According to the probable cause affidavit, the caller, later discovered as Curtis Hodges,18, threatened to detonate a bomb, stating, “I am going to blow you up.” When the dispatcher inquired about his whereabouts, Hodges claimed to be at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and stated, “I am going to blow you in 13 minutes.” The report states that the phone call lasted just over a minute before the teen abruptly hung up. In response to the threat, PBSO noted that they took immediate action, shutting down the sheriff’s office and deploying a bomb squad and K-9 unit to search for explosives in the area. According to the report, as the investigation progressed, deputies traced the call to an IP address linked to Hodges’s residence in Louisville, Kentucky. Collaborating with Louisville law enforcement, PBSO uncovered that Hodges is a member of a violent online group, 764 Group, known for encouraging self-harm among minors and producing child sexual abuse material.
