AfD Thüringen: Die Prozesse des Vorsitzenden Björn Höcke

Gleich zweimal stand Björn Höcke, der Spitzenkandidat der Thüringer AfD dieses Jahr vor Gericht. Wie die Verfahren ausgegangen sind und was Höcke noch drohen könnte. Es ist fast schon ein Dauerthema: Neun Mal wurde die Immunität von Björn Höcke seit 2015 aufgehoben. Er ist der wohl umstrittenste Spitzenkandidat bei der Landtagswahl in Thüringen am 1. September. Worum es in den aktuellen Prozessen geht, was noch auf Höcke zukommen könnte und welche Verfahren eingestellt wurden. Aktuelle Höcke-Prozesse: Zwei Urteile in Halle sind noch nicht rechtskräftig Bei einem Wahlkampfauftritt 2021 in Merseburg rief Höcke „Alles für Deutschland“. Diese Parole war ein Kennzeichen der Sturmabteilung (SA) der NSDAP und ist in Deutschland verboten. Deswegen verurteilte das Landgericht Halle Höcke im Mai dieses Jahres wegen Verwenden eines Symbols einer verfassungsfeindlichen Organisation. Das Gericht glaubte ihm nicht, dass er nicht gewusst habe, dass es sich um eine verbotene Parole handelt. Die 5. Große Strafkammer verhängte eine Strafe von 100 Tagessätzen zu je 130 Euro, also insgesamt 13.000 Euro Strafe. Das Urteil ist allerdings noch nicht rechtskräftig. Höckes Verteidiger haben Revision eingelegt, der Fall geht nun an den Bundesgerichtshof. Dieser prüft das Urteil auf Gesetzesverletzungen, erhebt aber nicht nochmal Beweise. Björn Höcke wurde in zwei Prozessen verurteilt, die Urteile sind aber noch nicht rechtskräftig. Die Ermittlungen zur Rede in Merseburg liefen schon, als Höcke die ehemalige SA-Parole erneut angestimmt haben soll. Bei einer Parteiveranstaltung in Gera habe er im Dezember 2023 „Alles für …“ gesagt und das Publikum dazu animiert, „Deutschland“ zu rufen. Auch hier verurteilte das Landgericht Halle Höcke, in diesem Fall wegen Mittäterschaft und mittelbarer Täterschaft, weil er das Publikum die Parole vollenden ließ. Es verhängte eine Geldstrafe von 130 Tagessätzen zu je 130 Euro, insgesamt also 16.900 Euro. Auch dieses zweite Urteil ist noch nicht rechtskräftig. Höcke fordert für sich Freispruch und betonte seine Unschuld. Er habe nicht gegen das Gesetz verstoßen wollen. Welche Prozesse können noch auf Höcke zukommen? Für ein weiteres Verfahren gegen Björn Höcke wurde eine Anklage wegen des Vorwurfs der Volksverhetzung am Landgericht Mühlhausen zugelassen. Dabei geht es um einen Post in Höckes Telegram-Gruppe aus dem Jahr 2022, der sich mit einer Gewalttat in Ludwigshafen befasst.

Sie wolle in Paris „eine Botschaft an die Menschen in der Welt“ senden. Mobbing könne „Menschen zerstören, es kann die Gedanken, den Geist und den Verstand von Menschen töten“.

Vitor Dias, now 21, had a fascination with Adolf Hitler and Nazi creed when he downloaded material from the internet over four years, the Old Bailey heard. He pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing a document containing information useful for terrorist purposes with a further three similar offences to lie on the court file. (…) when Dias was aged between 16 and 20, he had collected terrorist material and information demonstrating a extreme mindset. It included information on how to make explosives and ammunition, and building a home-made submachine gun “from scratch” using metal sheets and tubes. He also possessed a manual detailing guerrilla tactics, equipment and weapons, home-made explosives, firearms manufacture and booby traps. Mr Amis said: “The material in his possession and communications in which he has taken part indicate that Vitor Dias is an adherent of Nazi ideology and far-right political causes, embracing as it does a hatred of Jews, LGBT persons and foreigners.

How neo-Nazis and far-right agitators abroad use Telegram to target Muslims in the UK – #terror

Neo-Nazi and far-right agitators from Europe and the United States are using Telegram to promote racist violence and undermine efforts of the police nationwide with malicious hate crime reports, a Tell MAMA investigation can reveal. Our earlier investigation into a prominent Telegram channel established following the horrific stabbings in Southport boasted over 15,000 members. A notable figure in this channel before its removal due to its posting of violently racist and terrorist material was an individual from Finland. Tell MAMA revealed how that Telegram channel had, before its removal, glorified the Christchurch terrorist, shared footage of the terror attacks and posted demonising comments about Muslim and Jewish communities. A second neo-Nazi Telegram channel that re-shared that content was removed from Telegram hours later. A further investigation into a much smaller account, with 328 subscribers, with links to this individual revealed a channel that had largely focused on promoting neo-Nazi messages in northern European, with the occasional commentary on European and North American politics, before the killings in Southport. In the days that followed the stabbings that resulted in the deaths of Elsie Dot Stancombe, Alice Dasilva Aguiar and Bebe King and the subsequent murder charges against Axel Muganwa Rudakubana, the channel re-shared material from various UK-based Telegram channels, in calls to violent actions and in racist invectives against refugee and Muslim communities. On the evening of 5 August, a video appeared on the channel promising that “many things are going to happen” invoking racist and violent responses that included, “We should target the central hub of these p*kis like Bradford and Birmingham.” A Swedish-based neo-Nazi, called for violence in London, with the group admin sharing their agreement, as someone else posted a winking Totenkopf (death skull) emoji. It was within this time frame that the Finnish neo-Nazi our investigation had identified had uploaded a racist video to TikTok titled “DO NOT GIVE UP YOUR HOMELAND DEAR ANGLOS” with a racist German-language song “Deutschland den Deutschen, Ausländer raus!” (“Germany for the Germans, foreigners out!”) that became a worrying TikTok trend in Germany, according to the public broadcaster NDR. Various neo-Nazi and white nationalist accounts in the UK and abroad posted approving and racist statements in the comments. A second racist TikTok video was captioned “Defend your birthright! #england #christisking” and included a clip of Prime Minister Keir Starmer with a Star of David on his forehead, splicing content posted lifted from a racist X-user (formerly Twitter) in the UK (an individual they often retweeted). More broadly, the responses of Elon Musk, including about potential “civil war” in the UK and policing responses to far-right violence is subject to ongoing government rebukes and wider public condemnation. In the early hours of 7 August, a US-based Telegram channel that boasts over 15,000 subscribers (who have links to the extremist far-right nationalist Proud Boys group) posted a screenshot of the online hate crime reporting hub for communities in England and Wales and a link. What followed in the comments of screenshots purporting to show malicious hate crime reports, including one report calling Muslims rapists and the N-word.

NEO-NAZI RHETORIC USED ON FAR-RIGHT FORUMS AS RIOTS SWEEP ACROSS BRITAIN

Far-right forums, which are being used to organise riots, are reportedly being used to target Jews.  A series of far-right riots across Britain began in response to the murder of three children in Southport last week, which was falsely attributed to an asylum-seeker. The first riot in Southport, which began as an anti-immigration protest, was organised on a forum which is allegedly partially run by a neo-Nazi. According to the CST, the neo-Nazi is alleged to have previously incited attacks on synagogues abroad and was also reported to the police last year for suspected involvement in violent antisemitism.  Messages in “Southport Wake Up”, a far-right Telegram channel, have reportedly said that they “support neither brown nor Jew” and claimed that “our nation is our land and our people.” Another message in the channel described Hitler as “the only politician since Roman times to truly care for his people”. In the same message, they wrote: “The Jewish people fabricated the Holocaust – ensuring they would never again be questioned by Europeans while they destroyed their homelands […] “

William Morgan, 69, was found to be at the forefront of a mob of about 100 people who set fire to bins, damaged businesses and buildings and threw missiles at police on County Road, Liverpool on the evening of Saturday August 3. The retired welder was seen setting fire to bins and damaging a community library and foodbank in Spellow Lane, Liverpool Crown Court heard. The court heard, the grandfather who had no previous criminal record, was seen holding a wooden cosh – a small truncheon – “plainly used to be a weapon”. He told police, who needed three officers to arrest him, he brought it for his own protection. Body-worn footage showed the widower telling officers to get off him as they attempted to arrest him. At one point he said “I’m f* 70” and an officer responded: “Well, why are you at a f**** riot?”

Why White Supremacists Are Trying to Attack Energy Grids – #terror

An ideology with roots in white supremacist writings in the 20th century found renewed attention in neo-Nazi online groups in the 2010s and has inspired recent plots, say researchers. Three men with ties to white supremacist groups were sentenced to prison last month for planning to attack a power grid in the northwestern United States. Last year, federal law enforcement officials charged two people with conspiracy to destroy an energy facility and accused them of creating a racist plot to cut power in Baltimore, a predominantly Black city. And in February 2022, three men also connected to white supremacist groups pleaded guilty over a scheme to target substations around the country in an attempt to cause “economic distress and civil unrest,” according to the F.B.I. (…) There is a long history of extremist attacks on critical infrastructure in the United States. Of attacks on the energy sector made in the last half-century, most were carried out by unidentified actors. Where assailants were identified, a third of attacks were carried out in the 1970s by people associated with the New World Liberation Front, a left-wing extremist group, according to the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism. But more recent plotted attacks on the energy sector have emerged from the opposite political extreme. A 2022 study by researchers at George Washington University that analyzed planned attacks on infrastructure from 2016 to 2022 found that such plans among white supremacist groups “dramatically increased in frequency” in that time. Over the course of those years, 13 individuals associated with white supremacist groups were charged with planning attacks on the energy sector; 11 of those 13 people were charged after 2020. (…) The new wave of violent, far-right plots often stem from the writings of James Mason, a neo-Nazi leader who produced a newsletter called “SIEGE” in the 1980s. Mr. Mason, who joined the American Nazi Party as a teenager, pushed for more underground and lethal approaches to achieve white supremacist goals in the United States. Rather than using the existing political process to implement racist policy, which white supremacist groups, like the Ku Klux Klan, worked to do in the 20th century, Mr. Mason wrote about wanting a “total war” against the system, a tenet of an ideology called “accelerationism.” Mr. Mason and his followers believed that a full collapse of American society was necessary to rebuild it with their extremist platform and “make way for the creation of a white ethnostate,” Mr. Lewis said.
