Video shows Department of Justice official urging Jan. 6 rioters to ‘kill’ cops – #terror

Police bodycam footage introduced at the trial of Jared Wise showed him berating police officers on Jan. 6, 2021, and yelling “kill ’em” as rioters attacked law enforcement. Less than five years after urging rioters to “kill” police at the Capitol, a former Jan. 6 defendant is working as a senior adviser for the Department of Justice, which has been dramatically remade under the second Trump administration. NPR has obtained police bodycam footage from multiple angles of the former defendant and current administration official, Jared Wise, berating officers and calling them “Nazi” and “Gestapo.” NPR located the footage, which has not previously been published, in a review of thousands of court exhibits from Jan. 6 criminal cases, obtained through legal action by a coalition of media organizations. The Department of Justice had introduced the footage as an exhibit in Wise’s trial. NPR also obtained the transcript of Wise’s testimony, in which he acknowledged that he repeatedly yelled “kill ’em” as officers were being attacked and tried to explain his actions. Wise was not convicted of any crimes related to Jan. 6, due to President Trump’s order to end all Capitol riot prosecutions. A Department of Justice spokesperson said in a statement, “Jared Wise is a valued member of the Justice Department and we appreciate his contributions to our team.” The videos depict a tense period in the middle of the riot that day. The Capitol building had been breached two hours earlier, with doors knocked off hinges and windows smashed. The air was thick with pepper spray. The vice president, along with members of Congress, had been forced to evacuate and halt the certification of the 2020 election, as rioters yelled, “give them the rope,” “hang Mike Pence” and “traitors get the guillotine.”

‘That’s Pretty Scary’: Texas White Supremacist Busted for Plotting Deadly Racist Attack Using Stockpile of Weapons Enough to Wipe Out a Neighborhood – #terror

A Texas man with white supremacist and Nazi ideologies was arrested on felony charges for allegedly plotting a massive, racist attack involving explosives against Black and Jewish people. Authorities with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office say 39-year-old Nathan James Henderson was taken into custody on July 12 after they received a “credible tip” about threats of mass violence and possession of illegal explosive components. He was initially charged with one count of “components of explosives” after authorities executed a search warrant at his home and found materials and chemicals to make bombs. Investigators also discovered multiple firearms and ammunition, notebooks containing extremist ideology and vague plans to disrupt public venues, 24 grenades with corresponding striker mechanisms, a homemade igniter with remote detonation capability, and nearly 100 metal cylinders believed to be intended for manufacturing blasting caps. The grenades were inert and deactivated, but a follow-up analysis found they were in “various stages of construction,” leading authorities to believe Henderson was working to turn them into explosive devices. According to an affidavit cited by local news affiliate KSAT, Henderson’s cousin paid him a visit on July 4. During that visit, Henderson began making “alarming and extremist” threats to kill Jewish and Black people, along with unnamed government officials, using weapons and homemade explosive devices. He described himself as a white supremacist and a Nazi, and expressed admiration for New York murder suspect Luigi Mangione, whom he wanted to emulate, the affidavit stated. He also told his cousin that he would rather commit suicide than be taken into custody after the attack. During the raid on Henderson’s home, investigators also found letters to other known White supremacists who had been arrested for hate and race-related crimes. One neighbor who described the community as a multi-racial neighborhood said he drove up just as the raid was happening and saw the bomb squad removing explosive materials from the home.

Trial against neo-Nazi – Investigator describes defendant as ‘the superlative of an extremist’ – #terror #GreenBrigade #TheBase

The trial of a neo-Nazi at the Luxembourg City Court has exposed the transnational nature of modern extremism, with links to eco-fascist groups, white supremacist “Saints”, and a terror organisation mimicking Al-Qaeda’s structure. The Luxembourg City Court entered its second day of proceedings on Thursday in the trial of a neo-Nazi, whom a criminal police investigator termed “the superlative of an extremist”. The 23-year-old defendant faces multiple charges, including membership in a terrorist organisation and alleged attack planning. Evidence presented suggests he discussed potential targets for parcel bombs, including an animal testing clinic and a Swedish airline known for diversity-themed advertising. The accused joined the eco-fascist “Green Brigade” in August 2019, rapidly ascending its ranks – a climb investigators associate with his involvement in a 2019 Swedish mink farm arson, for which he has already been convicted in Sweden. Court documents indicate he actively promoted the group through propaganda distribution, including leaflets and stickers, while allegedly recruiting new members. “Pre-crime phase”: Neo-Nazi defendant allegedly prepared attacks The criminal police investigator testified that the defendant had reached “the peak of his radicalisation” when arrested in early 2020, describing him as being in a “pre-crime phase”. According to the officer, “he had a parcel bomb at work, had made and tested explosives, and ordered an assault rifle”. The court heard evidence confirming the defendant’s membership in the white supremacist group The Base, including an October 2019 interview with its founder, Rinaldo Nazzaro. When asked by Nazzaro why he sought membership, the defendant replied, “I want to act, to change things”. He cited Mein Kampf, 1984, and Brave New World as influential texts in his path to National Socialism.
