His mother, Gillian, posted a tribute on Facebook, praising him as ‘a beautiful, talented son and brother’. ‘Troubled’ Alex Sartain, 34, shot Mr Nash with a ‘homemade gun’ after believing he was spying on him. Sartain ‘liked’ Nazi pages on Facebook, including one dedicated to the leader of a Berlin stormtrooper group. A ‘beautiful and talented’ parish councillor has died today after he was shot by a a Nazi fanatic who thought he was a ‘government agent’ and hated the police. Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of James Nash, 42, who was shot by ‘troubled’ Alex Sartain, 34, with a ‘handmade gun’ in the front garden of his £600,000 thatched cottage in the Hampshire hamlet of Upper Enham, near Andover. (…) The gunman ‘liked’ various Nazi pages on his Facebook, including one dedicated to Horst Wessel, a leader of the stormtroopers in Berlin. Wessel was made Nazi martyr by propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels after he was killed in 1930. He also liked a page for Adolf Galland, a German Luftwaffe general, and another titled ‘I HATE POLICE’. Locals understand that Sartain’s family, did not have specific issues with Mr Nash personally. Mr Nash suffered serious head injuries in the attack, with his wife Dr Sarah Nash, a senior space scientist, sustaining minor injuries. One local claimed Mr Nash wanted an ideal country life as an artist ‘in his little cottage house’ after quitting the aerospace industry and had complained about work carried out by locals who owned businesses nearby.

Charlotte Knobloch, die Präsidentin der IKG, spricht von einer nicht hinnehmbaren Provokation. “Es geht hier nicht um Religion”, sagte sie zur AZ, “es geht darum, dass viele Menschen, die in die Synagoge oder ins Gemeindezentrum kommen, einfach Angst vor ihm haben.” Die Erkenntnisse, die die Behörden im Lauf der vergangenen Jahre über Heinz Meyer gewonnen haben, machen den Angstfaktor nachvollziehbar. Das Bayerische Landesamt für Verfassungsschutz etwa hat seine Einschätzung über ihn erst vor wenigen Monaten (Januar) kundgetan. “In der Gesamtschau ist festzustellen”, heißt es da, “dass Meyer ein maßgeblicher Aktivist der rechtsextremistischen Szene in München und Bayern ist.” Heinz Meyer taucht auch in der Liste des Bundesamts für Verfassungsschutz mit den Namen der 43 gefährlichsten Rechtsextremisten in Deutschland auf – und er wird als sogenannter Gefährder eingestuft.

Ich würde dieses Gedenken wieder machen”, sagte sie in der “ZiB Nacht” am Freitag. Sie sei vom Akademikerbund zu der Kundgebung eingeladen worden und nicht von den Identitären. Stenzel ist der Meinung, dass nicht alle Identitären rechtsextrem sind: “Ich halte Rechtsextremismus für falsch. Ich gestehe Identitären zu, dass sie Identitäre sind, aber nicht unbedingt Rechtsextreme. Rechtsextremismus ist ein bisschen etwas anderes.”

BitChute describes itself as a “free speech” website, but researchers say it is has become a major platform for neo-Nazi videos, racism, violence, conspiracy theories and even terrorist propaganda. It is one of several “alternative” social media companies capitalising on mainstream takedowns, including Russian Facebook-equivalent VK, Twitter alternative Parler and the Gab network. A report by counter-extremism research group Hope Not Hate said BitChute was “platforming hate and terror in the UK”. Author Gregory Davis described it as a version of “YouTube where you can get away with posting violent, Nazi and dangerous content”. “It is taking an increasingly large share of Nazi propaganda and really out-there Covid-19 conspiracy theories, including documentaries that question the existence of the virus,” he told The Independent.“The videos are predominantly far right, racist and homophobic … if you look on its trending list on any given day, you will see what people go there to watch.”

Under aggressive new criminal charges, it could mean she spends the rest of her life in prison. McNeil, 28, was among four people charged Tuesday for their alleged actions at a July Salt Lake City, Utah, protest over a district attorney’s decision that the fatal police shooting of a young man was justified. Protesters allegedly splashed red paint on the DA’s office, broke windows, and hung signs calling for justice for the slain man. But instead of merely charging the protesters with vandalism or even rioting, that same DA used a charging enhancement to claim they operated as a gang. Under the new charges, the demonstrators face up to life in prison. It’s the latest in a pattern of harsh measures that ratchet up potential penalties by treating protesters like a criminal conspiracy. “I’m not scared because I think that I did anything wrong, because I know that I didn’t,” McNeil told The Daily Beast. “But it would be very foolish of me to look at the potential for life in prison and not be scared. When I heard about that [the charges] I realized that in the eyes of the state, I had become an enemy for exercising what is supposed to be a protected right.” McNeil and a crowd that she estimated to contain 40 to 50 people gathered outside the DA’s office on July 9 to protest the lack of charges against a pair of officers who shot and killed 22-year-old Bernardo Palacios-Carbajal. Palacios-Carbajal was accused of making threats with a gun in May. He fled when officers arrived on the scene, and officers gave chase. He stumbled to the ground three times, the third time appearing to point his gun at officers, who shot him 34 times.

Only months after an FBI crackdown and announcing its disbandment, ex-members of the Atomwaffen Division formed a new group. Months after claiming it was disbanding, the neo-Nazi terror group formerly known as the Atomwaffen Division (AWD) has re-emerged under a new leadership structure and name, according to one of its leaders and an online statement reviewed by VICE News. The new group, operating under the banner of the National Socialist Order (NSO), says it draws from a cadre of former AWD leaders who avoided jail time after a sweeping nationwide FBI operation earlier this year led to the arrest of several of its members. The NSO statement said “much good came out of AWD”—which is linked to five killings in the U.S.—but that the new organization has learned from the mistakes of its predecessor. Though this may appear to be nothing more than yet another brigade of internet Nazis making threats, the founding of the NSO illustrates how violent accelerationist organizations continue festering online despite the FBI’s concerted efforts to arrest far-right militants. (Beyond the AWD round-up earlier this year, The Base—a parallel organization—was dismantled through a series of raids by the bureau in January, thwarting an assassination plot in Georgia and a mass shooting in Virginia.) VICE News spoke to a former AWD cell leader now jointly heading the NSO, who said the group will take advantage of the disarray wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic, rampant unemployment, and near-unprecedented political polarization in the U.S. The leader said NSO is a “political and paramilitary group” focusing on “recruitment and propaganda” claiming it did not intend to carry out violence in the near term.

Die Polizei ermittelt. Zugetragen hat sich der Vorfall laut Polizei bereits am 27. Juli. Gegen kurz vor 20 Uhr waren der 69-Jährige aus Bad Tölz sowie ein 33-jähriger Münchner mit Migrationshintergrund in Streit geraten. Im Zuge dessen fuhr der Tölzer mit seinem Radl am 33-Jährigen vorbei, der gerade in einem Auto saß, beleidigte ihn mit ausländerfeindlichen Parolen und zeigte ihm den Mittelfinger sowie den Hitlergruß. Ein 56-jähriger türkischer Taxifahrer bekam den Vorfall mit und forderte den 69-Jährigen auf, die Straße zu räumen. Doch der Tölzer dachte gar nicht daran – im Gegenteil. Der Mann ging nun wiederum auf den Taxifahrer los, beleidigte ihn ebenfalls rassistisch und spuckte ihm ins Gesicht – dabei sagte er, dass er Covid-19 habe.
