Hitler-obsessed Vaughn Dolphin, 20, has been jailed for eight-and-a-half years Vaughn was convicted of explosives, terrorism and firearm offences last month. A Hitler-obsessed white supremacist who claimed minorities ‘should be shot’ and almost blew up his kitchen while experimenting with explosives has been sent to a young offenders’ institution for eight-and-a-half years. Vaughn Dolphin, 20, branded himself a ‘dangerous lunatic’ after accidentally setting off a ‘fireball’ in his kitchen while manufacturing gunpowder. Police discovered the far-right extremist had turned the family shed into a weapons factory where he was manufacturing homemade explosives and an improvised musket. Jurors heard the inside of the shed was decorated with a badge from the Nazi Waffen SS and in a fridge in his bedroom were bags of bomb-making chemicals. Dolphin, who lived with his aunt in Walsall, West Midlands, was convicted of explosives, terrorism and firearm offences last month. (…) On June 14 last year, Dolphin posted a series of video clips to a far-right chatroom on the encrypted Telegram app, showing his kitchen filled with smoke. In one self-filmed video, he was seen in a gas mask surrounded by a choking cloud of smoke after attempting to blend a blast mixture in a saucepan on a domestic hob. Dolphin spoke of causing an ‘awesome fireball’ in videos posted on far-right chatrooms in which he complained: ‘Ah the b* f* mixture set itself prematurely, oh my God. Next time I’ll do this outside, but, ah well, you live and learn.’
