Alle betroffenen Unternehmen wurden bis zum 10. Januar um Stellungnahme gebeten. Bislang besaß Berlusconis MediaForEurope (MFE) gut 25 Prozent von ProSiebenSat.1. Das österreichische Nachrichtenportal “DE24Live” berichtet, Berlusconi habe womöglich geheim über Treuhänder weitere Aktien des Medienunternehmens erworben. Tatsächlich befinden sich die meisten Anteile des TV-Konzerns in Streubesitz. Die Sendergruppe wollte den Vorgang am Sonntag gegenüber t-online nicht kommentieren. Aus Unternehmenskreisen bei MFE hieß es laut “Spiegel”, dass man keinesfalls einen Anteil von über 30 Prozent erwerben wolle. Man habe nicht die Absicht, die Kontrolle zu übernehmen. Die Mitteilung sei lediglich so formuliert, weil ein Großaktionär mit mehr als 25 Prozent bei Versammlungen eine Mehrheit bei den Stimmrechten erreichen könne.

Jack Dorsey donated roughly 14 BTC, worth about $245,000, to further fund development of Nostr (short for Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays). After it was reported that Jack Dorsey will donate $1 million annually to encrypted messaging app Signal, Koty Auditore took to Twitter to urge Dorsey to fund Nostr, following a blog post where Dorsey published his views on the need for a native internet protocol for social media. Dorsey replied to the tweet two hours later, saying he was “figuring out how to do that.” Roughly 24 hours after that, he deployed funds to developer fiatjaf. Nostr is an open protocol that aims to create a censorship-resistant global social network. The protocol doesn’t rely on a trusted central server; instead, all users run a client. Using this client, users publish content by writing a post, signing it with their private key and sending it to other servers which then relay that content along. The relays are simple: Their only job is to accept posts and forward them along to relay participants.

MARYLAND – ‘Jews not welcome’ graffiti found at Bethesda high school

For the second time in a month, Montgomery County Police are investigating antisemitic vandalism in the community. The Montgomery County Department of Police is investigating antisemitic graffiti found at a high school in Bethesda Saturday morning. Around 8 a.m., officers were dispatched to Walt Whitman High School on Whittier Boulevard in Bethesda, Maryland for the report of antisemitic graffiti spray-painted on the school’s sign board out front. The sign, which has since been cleared, read “Jews not welcome.” Ninth-grade student Rachel Barold at Walt Whitman reached out to WUSA9 after receiving an email from her principal regarding the incident.  She says she was with other students at the time the email hit her inbox. “We all opened our phones at the same time and you could hears kids saying ‘oh my god’ check your emails. Everyone was in shock about what happened,” said Barold. She claims the graffiti comes directly after a school lesson on the Holocaust. Barold said a petition for the Holocaust lesson was started after Jewish students at the school began noticing their other classmates genuinely did not know what it was.
