Rechtsextreme Partei Vlaams Belang fordert die Gründung einer „Illegalenpolizei“

Während in den USA offen Fragen zum harten Vorgehen der Einwanderungsbehörde ICE in Städten wie Minneapolis gestellt werden, plädiert die flämische rechtsextreme Partei Vlaams Belang dafür, auch hierzulande einen ähnlichen Dienst einzurichten: die „Illegalenpolizei“. „In jedem Polizeikorps sollte es mindestens einen Beamten geben, der sich auf die Problematik der illegalen Migration spezialisiert und aktiv nach Illegalen sucht“, sagte die Abgeordnete Francesca Van Belleghem in der Radiosendung De Ochtend im VRT Radio 1. In Zonen, in denen die Problematik größer sei, müsse ein vollwertiger Illegalendienst vorhanden sein, heißt es in einer ergänzenden Pressemitteilung. „Derzeit gibt es eine passive Duldungspolitik in der Migration, wir streben jedoch eine aktive Fahndung an“, präzisiert Van Belleghem.

Hitler-inspired boy planned terror attack at mosque, and pretended to convert to Islam to gain access

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, previously pleaded guilty under the terrorism act at the High Court in Glasgow. The leader of a mosque where a Hitler-inspired teenager was plotting a massacre has told Sky News of the moment the boy pretended to convert to Islam to gain access, weeks before a terror attack which police prevented. The boy, who was 16 years old at the time, idolised the Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik and was caught by detectives as he made his way to burn down the Inverclyde Muslim Centre in Greenock in January. He was hoping the mosque, which has a capacity of 275 worshippers, would be full. It is understood the teen had boasted online about his plans to livestream the attack after becoming radicalised on social media aged 13. The youth, who was dressed in black and carrying an air rifle, had successfully hoodwinked the imam that he was serious about switching religion. The young neo-Nazi, who cannot be legally identified because of his age, was left alone to film and draw sketches of the areas where his victims, including children, would be trapped as the planned firebomb attack unfolded. (…) The boy, who has an autism diagnosis, believed that white people were in a “war” against other races and had “developed sympathies” with the Nazi Party.

Phishing-Angriff:  Zahlreiche Journalist:innen im Visier bei Attacke über Signal-Messenger

Mit einem Phishing-Angriff versucht ein bislang unbekannter Akteur, offenbar gezielt Zugriff auf die Signal-Konten von Journalist:innen und Aktivist:innen zu bekommen. Wir erklären, wie der Angriff funktioniert und wie man sich vor ihm schützen kann. In den letzten Tagen und Wochen wurden nach Informationen von netzpolitik.org vermehrt Journalist:innen mit einer bekannten Phishing-Attacke auf dem Messenger Signal angegriffen. Betroffen sind nach Kenntnis von netzpolitik.org dutzende (investigative) und teilweise prominente Journalist:innen bei öffentlich-rechtlichen Fernsehsendern sowie mehreren großen und kleinen Medienhäusern, darunter die Zeit, Correctiv, Euractiv und netzpolitik.org. Hinzu kommen einzelne bekannte Vertreter:innen der Zivilgesellschaft, darunter auch Rechtsanwälte. Netzpolitik.org hat im Zusammenhang mit dem Angriff bislang keine Betroffenen gefunden, die nicht diesen Kategorien zuzuordnen sind. Das deutet auf einen gezielten Phishing-Angriff auf bestimmte Telefonnummern hin, ist aber kein Beweis für einen solchen. „Wir haben erste Anzeichen dafür gesehen, dass Journalist:innen, Politiker:innen und Mitglieder der Zivilgesellschaft in Deutschland und ganz Europa ins Visier genommen wurden“, bestätigt Donncha Ó Cearbhaill, Leiter des Security Labs von Amnesty International gegenüber netzpolitik.org. „Diese Signal-Phishing-Kampagne scheint sehr aktiv zu sein“, so Ó Cearbhaill weiter. Es sei unklar, wie oft die Angriffe erfolgreich seien, aber die Ausbreitung der Kampagne würde wahrscheinlich durch die Kontaktlisten auf Signal angeheizt, die von früheren Opfern gesammelt würden. Wie geht der Angriff? Bei dem Angriff verschicken die Angreifer eine Nachricht über den Messenger Signal, bei der sie sich als „Signal Support“ ausgeben und behaupten, dass es verdächtige Aktivitäten auf dem Handy sowie den Versuch gegeben habe, auf private Daten zuzugreifen.

Elon Musk’s X, Grok Under New Investigation: ‘Violent, Unacceptable’

The European Commission has opened an investigation into X, Elon Musk’s social media platform, and the AI chatbot Grok over the alleged creation of sexually explicit deepfake images of women and children. Musk said previously that he had seen “literally zero” evidence that Grok had created nude images of children. “Sexual deepfakes of women and children are a violent, unacceptable form of degradation,” Henna Virkkunen, the executive vice president for tech sovereignty, security and democracy at the European Commission, said in a statement. The commission also said it had extended a separate probe into X of its recommendations algorithm. Opened in 2023, that probe has so far resulted in a 120 million euro (then-$140 million) fine in December for breaches of the transparency requirements. Both probes fall under the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA), which regulates technology companies in the bloc. If the commission finds against them, Musk’s companies could face large fines and other enforcement actions. (…) On January 14, Musk addressed some of the criticism about Grok’s alleged creation of nude images of children and women. He wrote on X, “I not aware of any naked underage images generated by Grok. Literally zero.” “Obviously, Grok does not spontaneously generate images, it does so only according to user requests,” Musk added. He continued: “When asked to generate images, it will refuse to produce anything illegal, as the operating principle for Grok is to obey the laws of any given country or state. There may be times when adversarial hacking of Grok prompts does something unexpected. If that happens, we fix the bug immediately.”

The EU has launched a formal investigation into Elon Musk’s xAI following a public outcry over how its Grok chatbot spread sexualized images of women and children. The billionaire entrepreneur has come under scrutiny from regulators around the world this month after people began using Grok to generate deepfakes of people without consent. The images were posted on the X social network as well as the separate Grok app, both of which are run by xAI. The probe, announced on Monday under the EU’s Digital Services Act, will assess if xAI tried to mitigate the risks of deploying Grok’s tools on X and the proliferation of content that “may amount to child sexual abuse material.” “Non-consensual sexual deepfakes of women and children are a violent, unacceptable form of degradation,” the EU’s tech chief, Henna Virkkunen, said. “With this investigation, we will determine whether X has met its legal obligations under the DSA, or whether it treated rights of European citizens—including those of women and children—as collateral damage of its service.” If the company is found to be in breach of the rules, the bloc can impose fines worth up to 6 percent of the worldwide annual turnover. An EU official said there will be no interim measures during the investigation. The European probe comes after UK media regulator Ofcom opened a formal investigation into Grok, while Malaysia and Indonesia have banned the chatbot altogether. Following the backlash, xAI restricted the use of Grok to paying subscribers and said it has “implemented technological measures” to limit Grok from generating certain sexualized images. Musk has also said “anyone using Grok to make illegal content will suffer the same consequences as if they upload illegal content.” An EU official said that “with the harm that is exposed to individuals that are subject to these images, we have not been convinced so far by what mitigating measures the platform has taken to have that under control.”

‘The white man’s coming back’: Eight held over links to resurgent violent skinhead group

Eight men linked to a violent racist skinhead group are in jail in the U.S. South on felony conspiracy charges or awaiting extradition for hate crimes against Jewish and LGBTQ+ targets, Raw Story has learned. Five North Carolina men, ranging in age from 18 to 22 and described in court filings as “supporters of the Vinlanders Social Club/Firm 22 and members of the Southern Sons, all known white supremacist/nazi groups,” were arrested on Jan. 21 and booked into the Mecklenburg County Detention Center in Charlotte, N.C. Court documents suggest charges may follow for three others detained outside North Carolina. Founded in 2003, Vinlanders Social Club earned a reputation as one of the most violent racist skinhead groups in the U.S., linked to at least four murders. It declined in the early 2010s but extremism researchers were alarmed last fall when the group began to show signs of resurgence. Southern Sons emerged in late 2021 as a neo-Nazi group seeking to recruit members in the Carolinas and Georgia. The group was co-founded by David William Fair, who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 as a juvenile, alongside his mother. Previously known as Southern Sons Active Club, Fair’s group has worked with other far-right groups including Patriot Front and Aryan Freedom Network. Now, Southern Sons has become increasingly aligned with Vinlanders Social Club. A review of Southern Sons’s Telegram channel indicates the group has been largely absorbed. For example, a message posted by Vinlanders and forwarded by Southern Sons last May shows 11 men with Vinlanders and swastika flags giving Hitler salutes outside a Confederate memorabilia shop in South Carolina. The caption reads: “Vinlanders Social Club Supporters and Probates Firm 22-Southern Sons at Dixie Fest 2025.” A propaganda video posted last September on the Southern Sons channel, highlighting the murder in August of Iryna Zarutska by a mentally disturbed man on the Charlotte light rail, directs prospective members to the Vinlanders website.

Dabei spielte auch das FBI, die amerikanische Bundespolizei, eine wichtige Rolle. Hinweise aus den USA brachten nämlich die Razzien gegen die Gruppe erst in Gang. Unwissentlich hatte sich der mutmaßliche Rädelsführer der Angeklagten, Jörg S. (24), über längere Zeit mit einem verdeckten US-Ermittler unterhalten. Dieser soll sich laut Verteidigung als Milizen-Führer vorgestellt und schließlich angeboten haben, ein Häuserkampf-Training bei Brandis durchzuführen. (…) Der Agent soll vor Ort gewesen sein, das Training geleitet und dabei mit einem versteckten Mikro die jungen Männer abgehört haben.

Nachdem am Samstagmorgen in Minneapolis im US-Bundesstaat Minnesota erneut eine Person bei einem Einsatz der US-Grenzschutzbehörde CBP erschossen worden ist, werden auch in der Sportwelt die Proteste immer größer. „Alex Pretti wurde ermordet“, schrieb etwa Tyrese Haliburton, NBA-Ikone und Basketballer der Indiana Pacers, in den sozialen Medien. Bis Sonntagmittag wurde sein Beitrag bereits elf Millionen Mal angesehen und erhielt fast 300.000 Likes.

Kritiker sprechen von einer Überreaktion, die US-Regierung stellt den Vorfall als Notwehr dar. Was ist bekannt? Und wie geht es jetzt weiter? Was ist passiert? Bei einem Einsatz der Einwanderungsbehörde ICE in der US-Stadt Minneapolis gab es am Samstag gegen 9 Uhr morgens Ortszeit einen Zwischenfall. Einsatzkräfte lieferten sich ein etwa 30-sekündiges Handgemenge mit dem 37-jährigen Alex Pretti. In der Folge wird Pretti erschossen. Von wem genau, ist bisher unklar. Ebenso, ob der 37-Jährige am Einsatzort oder erst im Krankenhaus starb. Laut Heimatschutzministerium wurde der Mann vor Ort für tot erklärt, der Polizeichef sprach hingegen davon, dass er erst im Krankenhaus für tot erklärt wurde. (…) Ein anderes Video zeigt, wie Pretti auf eine weitere Person zugeht, die nach einem Stoß desselben Beamten zu Boden fällt. Pretti stellt sich zwischen die Person und den Beamten und streckt die Arme nach ihm aus. Der Polizist setzt Reizgas ein, woraufhin Pretti die Hand hebt und den Kopf wegdreht. Der Polizist packt Prettis Hand, setzt erneut Reizgas ein und stößt ihn dann von sich.Sekunden später umringen mindestens sechs Bundesbeamte Pretti, der zu Boden gerungen und mehrfach geschlagen wird. Mehrere Beamte versuchen, Pretti die Arme auf den Rücken zu drehen, doch er wehrt sich.Videos zeigen, wie ein Beamter, der mit der rechten Hand auf Prettis Rücken über dem Gerangel steht, kurz vor dem ersten Schuss mit einer mutmaßlichen Waffe in der Hand von der Gruppe zurückweicht. Jemand ruft “Waffe, Waffe!”. Es ist unklar, ob damit die Waffe gemeint ist, die Pretti laut den Behörden bei sich trug.Dann fällt der erste Schuss. Die Aufnahmen zeigen laut AP nicht eindeutig, wer den Schuss abgibt. In einem Video greift ein Beamter Sekunden zuvor nach seinem Gürtel und zieht offenbar seine Waffe. Derselbe Beamte ist mit gezogener Waffe hinter Pretti zu sehen, als drei weitere Schüsse fallen. Pretti sackt zusammen. Die Videos zeigen, wie die Beamten zurückweichen, einige mit gezogenen Waffen. On January 24, Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care unit nurse at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Health Care System, was shot and killed by federal agents on Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The shooting comes just over two weeks after Renee Good was shot and killed by a federal agent in the same city  The United States Department of Homeland Security claimed Pretti was killed after an “armed struggle” with DHS officers and that it seemed he had wanted to “do maximum damage”. Yet video footage shared online, showing shortly before and during the incident, appears to contradict that claim. Some of the earliest available footage of the encounter was posted to Instagram and shows an agent crossing the street to talk to Pretti who appears to be filming with his phone, which he is holding in his right hand. According to DHS, agents were conducting an immigration arrest in the area. (…) In both the Reddit and Facebook video, a federal agent wearing a grey jacket can be seen approaching federal agents who are on top of and struggling with Pretti. Notably, the agent’s hands are empty as he approaches. He can be seen reaching into and rummaging amid the bodies. About twelve seconds later, he is seen carrying a handgun away from the scene. Another video, also posted to Reddit, shows the agent removing a gun from a holster in Pretti’s waistband before he is shot. Before the agent who takes the gun leaves the scene, it appears someone shouts “gun”, as can be heard in this video that was posted to X, and another video posted to Reddit.  This Reddit video also shows that almost immediately after the agent in the grey jacket leaves with the gun, a single gunshot can be heard, followed by nine other shots. Slowing it down, the same video shows that as the federal agent in the grey jacket removes Pretti’s gun, an agent in a black beanie, who appears to have a line of sight on the gun being removed, begins to draw his own weapon. As soon as the agent in the grey jacket moves away with the gun and leaves, the agent in the black beanie steps to where the agent in the grey jacket had been with his finger on the trigger and fires the first shot.  Two agents appear to fire their weapons from the footage available, one wearing a black beanie and another wearing a brown beanie, as can be seen in this video.
