Third #Idahoan arrested in #Capitol #riot – #terror

A Boise woman has become the third Idaho resident to be arrested in connection with the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Yvonne St Cyr, 53, was taken into custody without incident Wednesday afternoon on an arrest warrant issued by the U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia, according to a news release from the FBI. The exact charges were not detailed. St Cyr was arrested by members of the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and the Boise Police Department. As of Thursday afternoon, St Cyr was being held at the Ada County Jail on a federal U.S. Marshals Service hold, according to Patrick Orr, spokesperson for the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. The Boise woman was previously identified by the Idaho Statesman as participating in the Jan. 6 insurrection, as she made multiple posts to Facebook during the Capitol assault detailing her actions and beliefs. A Facebook post from Jan. 6 contained the caption “Patriots are in our house” and featured a selfie of St Cyr, and another shot showed several people inside a Capitol room with an overturned table. One Facebook Live video posted on St Cyr’s page shows the mob of people on the Capitol steps, as others inside the building are calling for “glasses and gas masks.” Shortly after, the camera flips to show St Cyr inside as she mentions the need to charge her phone. The riot two weeks before inauguration day by then-President Donald Trump supporters left five people dead, including a Capitol Police officer. The rioters, some of them armed, broke through doors, broke glass, knocked down barricades, stole items from the Senate chamber and from offices, and caused lawmakers to take cover after being evacuated. A day after the Capitol riot, St Cyr and her husband, Troy, took to Facebook Live and explained their experiences at the Capitol. Yvonne St Cyr said on the livestream that she “made CNN” when she leaned out a window and reportedly yelled “this is our house.” “God put me in that window, so I’m assuming God put me on CNN screaming like a mad woman,” St Cyr said. “So hey, maybe I’m going to get arrested again, but I would get arrested and I would die for this country. So no regrets.”

#FBI tipped to #NewHolland man in #Capitol siege – #terror

The Federal Bureau of Investigations and the District of Columbia Capitol Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a New Holland man involved in the Capitol siege. According to his own social media postings, the man, Matt Horning, 44, formerly of Washington Court House and Dayton who now lives in New Holland, partook in the storming of the U.S Capitol building on Wednesday. Horning made social media postings in which he claimed he entered the Senate chambers and smoked a marijuana cigarette; the Guardian has not been able to independently verify the man’s claims, but videos posted on social appear to show the man traveled to the nation’s Capital last week. The Guardian spoke with three individuals who said they have alerted the FBI and D.C Metro Police to the man’s claims and possible involvement. The Department of Justice has charged dozens of people that they have been able to identify in photos, videos, and social media postings for their involvement in overtaking the building.

#Antifa belagert Wahlkampfstände der #AfD in #Weil und #Lörrach – #mandic

In Weil am Rhein protestieren Gegner des AfD-Landtagskandidaten Dubravko Mandic an dessen Wahlstand. Das Geschehen verlagert sich nach Lörrach, dort kommt es zu einer Körperverletzung. Die Demonstration der Mandic-Gegner am Samstag war von der Stadt Weil am Rhein genehmigt worden, die Polizei beobachtete des Geschehen mit zahlreichen Einsatzkräften. Den Demonstranten war zur Auflage gemacht worden, dass sie sich hinter einer Absperrung in der Rathauspassage aufhalten, Masken tragen und auf die Abstandsregeln achten. Die Polizei hat für den Tag zusätzliche Kräfte aus dem Landkreis und teilweise auch vom Polizeipräsidium Einsatz zusammengezogen. Die ersten Teilnehmer versammelten sich kurz vor 10.30 Uhr in der Passage, zunächst nur etwa ein Dutzend, im weiteren Verlauf gut 50 Personen, wie die Polizei schätzte. Mit Zurufen versuchten sie, Mandic in eine Debatte zu verwickeln, und forderten ihn auf, “wieder nach Freiburg” zu gehen, er habe “hier in Weil nichts verloren” Mandic weigert sich, Maske zu tragen Aufgrund der Nähe der Demonstration zum AfD-Stand – der Abstand betrug nur wenige Meter – kam es zwischen den Wahlkämpfern und Passanten zu keinem Gespräch oder Meinungsaustausch mehr. Nach 20 Minuten packten die AfD-Leute ihren Wahlstand zusammen und fuhren davon. Die Gegendemonstranten erklärten ihre Veranstaltung daraufhin für beendet und zerstreuten sich ebenfalls. Die Polizei behielt die Situation aber im Auge, zumal seitens der Demonstrations-Leitung nach dem Ende der Weiler Veranstaltung Überlegungen angestellt wurden, ihren Protest kurzfristig nach Lörrach zu verlegen. Dubravko Mandic meldete sich gegen 11.30 Uhr per Video auf Instagram zu Wort. Darin diskutiert er in Lörrach mit dem Vollzugsdienst, weil er sich weigert, eine Maske aufzusetzen und seine Personalien herauszugeben. “Machen Sie sich nicht so wichtig? Für was sind Sie in die Schule gegangen? Um Strafzettel zu verteilen wegen Maskentragen? Sie sollten sich schämen”, herrscht er den Vollzugsdienstmitarbeiter an.

Fundraiser for Undocumented Boogaloo Boi Goes Splat

GoFundMe took down the appeal for an alleged extremist caught in the country illegally with a gun. “Help our Boi and his Daughter,” the solicitation read. “On March 2nd, Homeland Security Investigations decided they had nothing better to do than to pick on a single father who simply wanted to be left alone. He is in the country on an expired visa, which they leveraged against him for an arrest. Now, he needs our help, both for his legal defense and to ensure care for his daughter during this time.” The campaign was seeking to raise $10,000, and had amassed a total of $515 from four donors when it was taken offline on Thursday, after The Daily Beast inquired about it. “I can confirm that the fundraiser was removed from the platform because it violated GoFundMe Terms of Service, and all donors have been refunded,” company spokesperson Ese Esan said in an email. Federal authorities say they have tied Lijbers, 26, to the Boogaloo Bois, a far-right extremist movement that wants to overthrow the U.S. government by fomenting a second civil war. He was first identified in July 2020, after the feds opened an investigation into the Boogaloo Bois “based on information that members were discussing committing crimes of violence and were maintaining an armed presence on the streets of Minneapolis during civil unrest following the death of George Floyd,” according to a criminal complaint filed March 2 against Lijbers. Derek Chauvin, the former police officer charged with killing Floyd, is set to go on trial March 8. GoFundMe’s rules prohibit fundraisers for, among other things, “the legal defense of alleged crimes associated with hate, violence, harassment, bullying, discrimination, terrorism, or intolerance of any kind.” It has in the past removed campaigns set up on behalf of beneficiaries such as James Fields Jr., the white supremacist senetenced to life in prison for driving his car into a crowd of counterprotesters at a 2017 white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer and injuring 19 others. Last fall, GoFundMe removed a right-wing operative’s fundraiser for spreading false information about the 2020 presidential election having been stolen. After the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, which resulted in one death and numerous injuries, GoFundMe banned roughly 1,400 pro-Trump fundraising campaigns that promoted conspiracy theories about election fraud or raising money to pay legal expenses for people accused of participating in the riot, according to BuzzFeed News. To get around the restrictions, some members of extremist groups have turned to alternatives such as GiveSendGo, a Christian crowdfunding site that has hosted fundraisers for figures such as Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio and Kyle Rittenhouse, a teenage gunman from Illinois accused of killing two people and wounding a third during last summer’s civil unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Lijbers was a member of a private Facebook group that included Steven Carrillo, a notorious Boogaloo Boi and Air Force sergeant charged in a series of politically motivated cop killings last June, the complaint states

Duisburg: Ausgerechnet „Feine Sahne Fischfilet“-Sänger mit Hitlergruß? Ex-AfD-Vorstand postete perfides Bild – das hat nun Folgen

Jan Gorkow, Sänger der Band „Feine Sahne Fischfilet“, soll einen Hitlergruß gezeigt haben. Dahinter steckte ein fieser Fake. Mit einer juristisch schwierigen Frage musste sich die 8. Strafkammer des Landgerichts in Duisburg am Mittwoch beschäftigen. Der Angeklagte Marco P. aus Oberhausen hatte auf seiner öffentlich einsehbaren Facebook-Seite Anfang September 2018 ein Bild gepostet, dass Jan Gorkow, Sänger der Band „Feine Sahne Fischfilet“, zeigt, wie er vermeintlich einen Hitlergruß macht. Dazu schrieb der ehemalige Vorstand der AfD Oberhausen zynisch: „Oh nein, er ist einer von uns, das ist Steinmeier Lieblingsband Feine Sahne Fischfilet“. Den Post versah er mit zwei lachenden Emojis. Wie also ist das Bild zu deuten? Das Amtsgericht in Oberhausen wertete es als Verwenden von Kennzeichen verfassungswidriger Organisationen und hatte den 54-jährigen gelernten Maler und Lackierer zu 30 Tagessätzen zu je 25 Euro verurteilt. Der Angeklagte legte dagegen Berufung ein. Jetzt musste das Landgericht in Duisburg darüber entscheiden. „Ich wollte nichts Böses“, sagte P. dem Vorsitzenden Richter. Er habe das Bild des Sängers der bekennend linken Band „Feine Sahne Fischfilet“ im Internet gefunden und auf seiner Seite gepostet. „Das kursierte auf sämtlichen Seiten“, erklärte er. Dass es sich dabei um ein aus dem Zusammenhang gerissenes Bild handelte, darüber habe er sich keine Gedanken gemacht. Das Portal „Mimikama“ hatte seiner Zeit aufgedeckt, dass das Foto des Sängers ein Screenshot aus einem kurzen Video der Band war und er keinesfalls einen Hitlergruß zeigt. (…) Nach einem Bericht der „WAZ“, dass dort fremdenfeindliche Kommentare geduldet werden, hatte die Partei die Seite des Oberhausener Kreisverbands gelöscht. Auf P.s privater Seite fand sich dagegen noch jede Menge weitere Hetze: „Dem Altenpfleger tut der Rücken weh! Doch die Regierung sorgt sich um Mehmet und seinen BMW.“ Urlaubsgrüße kommentierte er so: „Ferner waren wir auch mit dem Schlauchboot auf dem Mittelmeer. Und wir hätten jeden erschlagen, der uns gerettet hätte und nach Deutschland bringt.“ Urteil: 750 Geldstrafe bleibt bestehen Das Urteil war nach wenigen Stunden gefällt. Der Vorsitzende Richter verwarf die Berufung als unbegründet. Es bleibt also bei der Geldstrafe von 750 Euro. Das Urteil ist rechtskräftig.

Der SC Freiburg kann nichts dagegen tun, dass Demos gegen die Corona-Maßnahmen an seiner neuen Arena ihren Auftakt nehmen. Die Route der Korsos führte inzwischen weit ins Freiburger Umland. Knapp 100 Fahrzeuge waren am Dienstagabend in Waldkirch, Denzlingen, Vörstetten und Gundelfingen unterwegs. Bei dem Autokorso handelt es sich um eine in Freiburg organisierte Demonstration gegen die Corona-Maßnahmen. Die Teilnehmer fahren in Freiburg seit Anfang November regelmäßig durch die Stadt, auch Kennzeichen aus Lörrach, Emmendingen und Waldshut waren mehrmals vertreten. Die Teilnehmer war nach Polizeikenntnissen zum zweiten Mal im Freiburger Umland unterwegs. 2020 hatte demnach eine Demonstration im Kaiserstuhl stattgefunden, nun fuhren sie zum ersten Mal Richtung Elztal. Laut Polizeisprecher Michael Schorr nahmen geschätzt 200 Menschen teil. Um den Verkehr nicht zu behindern, habe man die Autos in drei Blöcke aufgeteilt, die um 18.50 Uhr in einem Abstand von drei Minuten nacheinander losfuhren. Startpunkt war der Parkplatz vor dem neuen SC-Stadion in Freiburg. Der SC Freiburg distanziert sich “ausdrücklich” von der Bewegung. “Uns ist bekannt, dass auf dem Parkplatz vor dem neuen SC-Stadion zuletzt Querdenker-Demos gestartet sind. Leider handelt es sich dabei um städtisches Gelände, auf dem der Sport-Club kein Hausrecht hat”, schreibt der Verein auf seinem Twitter-Account.

Accused Neo-Nazi #Terrorist’s Account Posted Threatening #Videos of Him Armed in Public – #TheBase

Justen Watkins, a one-time leader of the Base now out on-bail while facing terrorism related charges, made disturbing Instagram posts before his arrest. Twenty-five-year-old Michigan native Justen Watkins, a reputed former leader of a neo-Nazi terror group under an FBI counterterrorism probe, continues to be free on bond after his court date was once again delayed. VICE News has obtained a data dump of postings from a private Instagram account associated with Watkins, which was active before his arrest in October 2020. In the massive cache, dated from late 2019 into 2020, there are calls for murder and several images believed to be of Watkins, who was the one-time leader of the Base, with firearms and paramilitary gear. One particularly disturbing video pans between what looks like a military-style rifle on the passenger side of a car and an armored vehicle parked at a gas station. A caption reads “Bout to play some [Grand Theft Auto].”  After getting out of jail on bond in late 2020, Watkins has yet to face charges in court due to a mixture of coronavirus-related delays and his attorney dumping him as a client. Authorities are aware Watkins had access to firearms and has been accused of being previously intent on acts of terror, yet he remains free. His release while facing serious terrorism-related charges highlights the difficulty authorities have in keeping far-right militants behind bars—a problem they likely wouldn’t face if Watkins was a member of or providing material support to an international terrorist organization like ISIS or al-Qaeda.
