A man who was described as a “Nazi” was caught on video being attacked during a college basketball game between Arkansas and South Carolina. In a video obtained by John Nabors of Inside Arkansas, a man can be heard yelling “Heil Hitler” as fans attacked him on Wednesday night. “Big boy with the wild hair had a swastika on his phone that was seen by the people behind him after he would never sit down. Then in this video you can hear him say ‘Heil Hitler’ before getting smacked,” Nabors explained. “What a garbage human being. Ban this dude forever.”

A Department of Homeland Security whistleblower has released the identities of about 4,500 ICE and Border Patrol employees Tuesday in what has been called potentially the largest agency data breach for the department. The killing of 37-year-old mother Renee Nicole Good by ICE agent Jonathan Ross last week in Minneapolis has prompted the leak of personnel date to the ICE List, an online database created to promote accountability by the masked federal agents, according to a report from The Daily Beast. The onslaught of national outrage reportedly led to the major leak. (…) Information included in the new leak includes around “1,800 on-the-ground agents and 150 supervisors. Early analysis by the organization suggests that around 80 per cent of the staff identified remain employed by DHS,” according to The Beast. The first batch of names was slated to be posted on the site on Tuesday night. Members of the public have reportedly also shared information about agents in hotels and even neighbors.

A hacktivist remotely wiped three white supremacist websites live onstage during their talk at a hacker conference last week, with the sites yet to return online. The pseudonymous hacker, who goes by Martha Root — dressed as Pink Ranger from the Power Rangers — deleted the servers of WhiteDate, WhiteChild, and WhiteDeal in real time at the end of a talk at the annual Chaos Communication Congress in Hamburg, Germany. Root gave the talk alongside journalists Eva Hoffmann and Christian Fuchs, who wrote an article about the hacked sites for the German weekly paper Die Zeit in October. As of this writing, WhiteDate, which Hoffmann described as a “Tinder for Nazis”; WhiteChild, a site that claimed to match white supremacists’ sperm and egg donors; and WhiteDeal, a sort-of Taskrabbit-esque labor marketplace for racists, are all offline. The administrator of the three websites confirmed the hack on their social media accounts. “They publicly delete all my websites while the audience rejoices. This is cyberterrorism,” the administrator wrote on X on Sunday, vowing repercussions. The administrator also claimed that Root deleted their X account before it was restored. Root also published the data allegedly scraped from WhiteDate online. The hacker said that they scraped WhiteDate’s public data and found “poor cybersecurity hygiene that would make even your grandma’s AOL account blush.” Root said that users’ images included precise geolocation metadata that “practically hands out home addresses with a side of awkward selfies.” “Imagine calling yourselves the ‘master race’ but forgetting to secure your own website — maybe try mastering to host WordPress before world domination,” Root wrote. The leaked data includes users’ profiles with name, pictures, description, age, location (both containing precise coordinates and user-set country and state), gender, language, race, and other personal information that users uploaded. Root wrote on the site that “for now” there are no emails, passwords, or private conversations. According to the leaked data, WhiteDate had more than 6,500 users, of which 86% were men and 14% women. “A gender ratio that makes the Smurf village look like a feminist utopia,” Root wrote.

A far more niche corner of the online dating world, it turns out, promises to match white supremacists by creating safe havens that are inherently based on hate and discrimination. But cybersecurity doesn’t appear to be a strong suit among those running these sites, giving hacktivists a golden opportunity to wreak havoc on the platforms. A hacker who goes by the pseudonym Martha Root made a big splash during the annual Chaos Communication Congress in Hamburg, Germany, last month, as Hackread reports. While dressed as the Pink Ranger from the Power Rangers, Root unceremoniously deleted the servers of WhiteDate, a site described by writer Eva Hoffman as a “Tinder for Nazis.” While she was at it, she also wiped WhiteChild, a service that connected white supremacist sperm and egg donors, and WhiteDeal, a blatantly racist marketplace for freelance labor, at the end of her 44-minute speech. In an even more unusual twist, Root also trained an AI chatbot to engage with WhiteDate’s users to extract as much information from them as possible, demonstrating how the tech can be used to root out fascists on the internet. (…) Root went far beyond wiping out the sites, which remain offline at the time of writing. Before deleting the servers, she lured the site’s users by deploying an AI chatbot powered by Meta’s open source Llama large language model to engage with users and “gather as much data as possible before the site went offline or noticed” — a refreshingly productive use of the tech. “You are on a white-only dating platform to find someone who shares your traditionalist, right-wing values and vision for the future,” she wrote in English in the prompt to train the chatbot. “Due to past bad experiences, you never share contact details like Telegram until after meeting in person.” “Show interest in traditional family roles and heritage, using an approachable tone with a mix of warmth and conviction,” it continues. “Occasionally use light humor or small talk to keep the conversation engaging and relatable.” It got to the point where her account — creatively named “lilmisethnostate” — was invited out of the blue by a user named “Anglo-Saxon” to a WhiteDate meetup in northern Germany. Root, of course, knew better, and instead watched from a distance as a group of white supremacist users “kicked off their tour of northern Germany,” as she told the audience in German. Getting the list of WhiteDate users was trivially easy. During her speech, Root demonstrated that simply typing in the URL whitdate.net/download-all-users/ resulted in a prompt, allowing her to retrieve a full list with a click of a button, marked “Download Now.” “The worst security that you can imagine,” Root said derisively. Root also identified the owner of the site, Christiane Horn, who put little effort into hiding her identity on her platform. “In case you were interested,” he said during the speech, “her hobbies are feng shui, eating brunch, and Naturgeister,” referring to mythical beings in Germanic folklore. Kennedy gewidmet, einem Demokraten, wurde im vergangenen Jahr im andauernden Kulturkampf seiner Regierung von US-Präsident Donald Trump übernommen, in dem er sich selbst zu einem der Vorsitzenden des Zentrums machte. Als neuen Präsidenten installierte Trump den ehemaligen US-Botschafter in Deutschland, Richard Grenell, einen konservativen Hardliner, der treu auf Trumps Linie ist. Ziel der Übernahme ist es offenbar, die als linksliberal geltende Kulturinstitution auf die reaktionären Werte der MAGA-Bewegung einzunorden. Dagegen regt sich Protest aus der Musik- und Kulturszene. Nach eigener Aussage sollte Schwartz im kommenden Mai als Gastgeber einer Gala im Kennedy Center auftreten. Am Freitag erklärte er, dass er für die Veranstaltung nicht mehr zur Verfügung stehe. In einer Erklärung gegenüber der »New York Times« verwies Schwartz auf seine langjährige Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kennedy Center und sagte, dass es »als unpolitischer Ort für die freie künstlerische Entfaltung von Künstlern aller Nationalitäten und Ideologien gegründet wurde«. Doch damit sei es nun vorbei. »Es ist nicht mehr unpolitisch, und dort aufzutreten, ist mittlerweile zu einer ideologischen Aussage geworden«, sagte er. »Solange das so bleibt, werde ich dort nicht auftreten.«

Auf der Website TrumpKennedyCenter.org finden sich Antworten: Für den Silvesterabend waren dort die „Epstein Dancers“ angekündigt. Wer sich auf einen Tanz um Berge geschwärzter Akten freute und ein Ticket kaufen wollte, wurde freilich enttäuscht, denn es handelt sich nicht um die offizielle Seite des „Trump Kennedy Center“. Der Satiriker Toby Morten hatte die Domain erworben, in weiser Voraussicht. Als Trump Anfang 2025 damit begonnen hatte, Vorstandsmitglieder des Zentrums zu entlassen, war ihm klar, dass früher oder später Trumps Name auf der Fassade des Gebäudes prangen würde. Aus Sicht des Center-Leiters leiden die Künstler an einem „Verwirrungssyndrom“ Morten nutzt die Website nun, um sich über den Präsidenten lustig zu machen. Manche Dinge seien allerdings schwer zu parodieren, stellt er fest. Auf der Website steht: „Wir laden Sie ein, Kultur als Autorität, Prunk als Wahrheit und Exzellenz nach Definition der Machthabenden zu erleben.“ Die Institution existiere, um das zu bewahren, was nicht infrage gestellt werden dürfe. Das reale „Trump Kennedy Center“ hat derweil mit anderen Problemen als einer Parodie zu kämpfen. Die Liste der Musiker, die ihre Auftritte absagen, wird immer länger. Zuletzt hatte die Jazzband Cookers, ein All-Star-Septett, ihren Silvester-Auftritt abgesagt. Die Band begründete das so: „Jazz entstand aus dem Kampf und dem unermüdlichen Streben nach Freiheit: Freiheit des Denkens, der Meinungsäußerung und der menschlichen Stimme.“ Die Tanztruppe „Doug Varone and Dancers“ hat ihren Auftritt von dieser Woche ebenfalls annulliert. Ihr entgingen dadurch Einnahmen in der Höhe von 40 000 Dollar, teilte sie der New York Times mit. Der Entscheid sei „finanziell verheerend, aber moralisch berauschend“. Schon an Heiligabend fiel ein Konzert aus, weil sich der Vibrafonist Chuck Redd zurückgezogen hatte. Und im neuen Jahr wird es so weitergehen. Die Folksängerin Kristy Lee aus Alabama sagte zu ihrer Entscheidung: „Wenn die amerikanische Geschichte so behandelt wird, als könne man sie verbieten, auslöschen, umbenennen oder für das Ego eines anderen umgestalten, kann ich nicht auf dieser Bühne stehen und nachts ruhig schlafen.“

Die frühere Chefin der Grünen Jugend hat sich erneut zum Komplex Männer und Böller zu Wort gemeldet – offensichtlich in Anspielung auf ihre umstrittene Äußerung von vor einem Jahr. Rückblick: Nach der Silvesternacht 2024/25 mit Toten und Verletzten hatte Nietzard in mutmaßlich provokanter Absicht erklärt: »Männer, die ihre Hand beim Böllern verlieren, können zumindest keine Frauen mehr schlagen.« Die Folge war große Aufregung, auch aus der eigenen Partei hagelte es Kritik, sie selbst entschuldigte sich schließlich. Auf diese Situation nimmt Nietzard nun, ein Jahr später – allem Anschein nach in planvoller Absicht – Bezug. Recent cancellations have left the performing arts center in Washington with gaps in programming for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. More artists have canceled their upcoming performances at the Kennedy Center after its board voted to rename the performing arts venue to include President Donald Trump’s name. The canceled performances to date include shows previously promoted for Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, Jan. 14 and April 24 and 25. The Cookers, a jazz band that was scheduled to perform Wednesday night, did not cite a specific reason in announcing their decision, but their statement hinted at politics. (…) Kristy Lee, who was scheduled to perform Jan. 14, announced her cancellation on Instagram, saying canceling shows hurts, “but losing my integrity would cost me more than any paycheck.” “When American history starts getting treated like something you can ban, erase, rename, or rebrand for somebody else’s ego, I can’t stand on that stage and sleep right at night,” said Lee, who described herself as “just a folk singer from Alabama.” (…) In a separate statement on her website, Lee said the cancellation was due to concerns for the center’s “institutional integrity.” She said she “believes publicly funded spaces must remain free from political capture, self-promotion, or ideological pressure.” “This decision is not directed at the Center’s dedicated staff, artists, or patrons, whose work and commitment to the arts remain deeply respected. Rather, it is a statement in defense of the Center’s founding purpose and the ethical responsibility shared by artists who grace its stage,” the statement read. (…) One of the first musicians to cancel a performance in the wake of the board’s vote was jazz musician Chuck Redd, who called off his Christmas Eve concert at the center, where had presided over the annual event for nearly 20 years. Redd told The Associated Press that he was canceling the concert as a result of the name change. In a letter to Redd, which the Kennedy Center shared with NBC News, Grenell, threatened to sue him for $1 million, calling his decision to back out a “political stunt.” In a statement Saturday, Kennedy Center spokesperson Roma Daravi said, “Any artist cancelling their show at the Trump Kennedy Center over political differences isn’t courageous or principled—they are selfish, intolerant, and have failed to meet the basic duty of a public artist: to perform for all people.” Trump has taken numerous steps to assert more control over the center, such as replacing the board with a handpicked set of members who named him their chair. He also changed the programming at the center, which included removing Pride events.

Bereits am Sonntag teilten die Helfer auf ihrer Webseite mit, dass ihr Träger Gewebo kurzfristig einen VW-Bus mit Rollstuhlrampe zur Verfügung stellen konnte. Ein weiteres Fahrzeug wurde in der vergangenen Nacht von einem privaten Unternehmer gestellt, wie die Sprecherin mitteilte. Er fuhr mit seinem Rettungswagen bei der Berliner Kältehilfe mit. Am Montag soll das Fahrzeug der Gewebo das erste Mal zum Einsatz kommen.
