A new network of accelerationist neo-Nazis is growing on social media. Accelerationism is an extremist ideology that advocates for intensifying or accelerating the pace of social or technological development in order to push society to its limits and bring down the existing system. Accelerationists aim to replace the current order of society with a new, different one, whether left-wing or right-wing in nature. Most current-day adherents of the ideology are aligned with National Socialism, however, and believe that the modern world is unredeemable and must be destroyed by any means possible. Today, a number of neo-Nazi accelerationist groups dedicated to this goal are active on social media platforms, particularly Telegram, where they disperse their propaganda and attempt to draw new recruits into their ranks (…) The larger fraternal group was created roughly a month before the cell. The group’s ideology is rooted in Christian scripture, and its posts frequently appropriate Bible verses to justify their violent, antisemitic, and anti-Western beliefs. Writings published by the group to its Telegram channel juxtapose devout adherents of Christianity with satanic “enemies” of the religion, who are to be struck down. Like in radical jihadist rhetoric, America is referred to as the “great Satan.”
