A far right protester performed a Nazi salute at a city protest against ‘illegal immigrants’ just yards from police officers. Ryan Ferguson, who visits protests across the country, performed the salute and said ‘I’m a Nazi and proud – absolutely’ at the ‘family friendly’ protest outside the Fownes Hotel, used to house asylum seekers in Worcester. A video of the incident was shared by Birmingham Antifascists. A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “On Saturday, February 28, we received a report of racially or religiously aggravated public order on Clare Street in Worcester. An investigation is ongoing.” Michelle Taylor of Worcestershire Against Hate said: “How long are the ‘Worcester Patriots’ going to keep up the pretence that their campaign of hate isn’t racist? “At their protest on Saturday, Ryan Ferguson, a convicted racist thug, loudly proclaimed himself to be a Nazi and proud while doing a Sieg Heil salute. “Ferguson was personally invited, along with far-right extremists from other areas, in order to bolster their dwindling numbers. “While it is understandable for people to have concerns about our broken immigration system, this is mostly due to adverse reporting by mainstream media and manipulated information shared widely on social media by those who monetise hate for their own gains. “Nothing can condone racism and the resurgence of Nazism. There has been no reaction by West Mercia police so far.
