There are a wide range of reasons that families might choose homeschooling, from bullying or poor access to resources in local schools to different views on how children learn best. While some people just want to give their kids the best opportunities, others use homeschooling as a means to escape the facts in realms like science and U.S. History — and there are always curriculums available that are prepared to cater to these views. In reality, CRT is a college-level discipline looking at how racism and discrimination are intertwined in the fabric of society. In the imaginations and claims of some extremists, though, it’s an “anti-white racism” being taught to kids at the elementary level to steep white kids in guilt and self-hate.
Fear and hate sell well, and it’s no great surprise that parents across the country have believed these tales and are trying to teach their kids lessons to counter the type of CRT they genuinely believe is being sneak-fed to their kids at public schools, and no surprise at all that homeschool curriculums are ready to help. More concerning, though, than the widespread desire to counter the facts of America’s inequal history, is the use of curriculum to coerce kids into White Nationalism. . According to the Daily Beast, The School of the West is an online source for homeschool resources, but alongside math and language arts resources, it’s also offering a series called White Wellbeing. The course is described as teaching kids aged 4 and up that they’re blessed to be born white — or to use their own words, along with explaining that “the white race is known as Westernkind,” the course promises to help students
