A suspected paedophile has been arrested after an estimated €3 million worth of Nazi memorabilia and weapons were found in his Brazil home. Aylson Proenca Doyle Linhares (58) was arrested at his home in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday after parents from his neighbourhood reported him to police for allegedly abusing their 12-year-old son. When officers arrived at the property, they discovered more than 1,000 items inside, including Nazi uniforms, paintings, insignia, images of Adolf Hitler, flags, and medals of the Third Reich. They also found a hoard of weapons – including daggers, nine firearms, and ammunition – and a mock-up Nazi identification document made up with Linhares’ personal details. In total, over 1,000 items were found. Linhares told police his collection of “monstrous material” was worth between €2.5 million and €3 million. He was was charged with illegal possession of weapons, racism and paedophilia after police also found photos of minors at the property, according to detective Luis Armond. Speaking to Reuters, Armond said: “He is a smart guy and articulate, but he’s a Holocaust denier, he’s homophobic, he’s a paedophile and he says he hunts homosexuals.
