Kurz vorm großem Festakt zum 30. Einheitstag mit Präsident, Kanzlerin und 230 Staatsgästen hat sich Gastgeber Brandenburg gründlich blamiert: Die Einheits-Ausstellung in der Landeshauptstadt wurde von Rechtsextremen bewacht! Grinsend posieren zwei Wachschützer in Arbeitskleidung neben den mannshohen Buchstaben „SS“. Das ist alles, was man vom Namen des Ausstellerlandes Hessen in ihrem WhatsApp-Post sieht. „80 Prozent der Expo-Wachleute dieser Security-Firma sind fremdenfeindlich oder rechtsextrem“, sagt ein Ex-Mitarbeiter zu B.Z. Dennoch wurde sie von Veranstalter Rainer Wohlthat zur Bewachung engagiert. Im Auftrag von Brandenburgs Staatskanzlei! Haben beide keine Sicherheits-Überprüfung des Wachpersonals verlangt, wie sie zum Festakt Pflicht ist? Veranstalter Wohlthat und Regierungssprecher Florian Engels (SPD) schweigen dazu. Die Security-Firma auch. Spät antwortet Wohlthat: „Die Firmenleitung hat sich von den Mitarbeitern distanziert und sie entlassen.“ Wann? Erst nach der B.Z.-Anfrage? Wie lange haben sie die 30-tägige Ausstellung bewacht? Wieder Schweigen. „Rechte Wachschützer fallen in Brandenburg nicht zum ersten Mal auf“, sagt Extremismus-Forscher Prof. Gideon Botsch (Uni Potsdam), „bei Aufträgen von öffentlicher Bedeutung muss genau hingeschaut werden!“ Wurde aber nicht.

Skandal um Gewaltfantasien: AfD-Mann räumt Äußerungen ein

Christian Lüth, Ex-Pressesprecher der AfD-Bundestagsfraktion, gibt rassistische Aussagen in einer Bar zu. Diese waren in einer TV-Doku zu hören. Der frühere Pressesprecher der AfD-Bundestagsfraktion, Christian Lüth, hat eingeräumt, der Mann zu sein, dem in einer am Montag ausgestrahlten Fernsehdokumentation menschenverachtende Aussagen und Gewaltphantasien zugeschrieben worden sind. In einem geheim aufgenommenen Gespräch mit einer rechten YouTuberin in einer Berliner Bar hatte er auf die Frage, ob es im Sinne der AfD sei, wenn mehr Migranten ins Land kommen, geantwortet: „Ja. Weil dann geht es der AfD besser. Wir können die nachher immer noch alle erschießen. Das ist überhaupt kein Thema. Oder vergasen, oder wie du willst. Mir egal!“ In einer persönlichen Erklärung, die zahlreichen Medien, darunter auch der taz, vorliegt, erklärt Lüth, er habe sich am 23. Februar dieses Jahres mit der Frau getroffen, „um ein Gespräch privaten Charakters über die AfD zu führen“. Dieses sei offensichtlich heimlich aufgezeichnet worden. In dem Gespräch sei es zu „abscheulichen und unendschuldbaren Äußerungen“ gekommen, die von einer „aufgeheizten, ironischen und übersteigerten Wortwahl“ geprägt gewesen seien. Diese Äußerungen entsprächen nicht seiner Gesinnung. Das soll wohl heißen: Er habe die Äußerungen gesagt, sie aber nicht so gemeint. Ein Muster, was in der AfD immer wieder vorkommt. Lüth entschuldigt sich auch nicht für seine Äußerungen. Anschuldigungen, dass er „rechtsradikal oder -extrem“ sei, weist er zurück und betont, er habe einen liberalen Hintergrund. Lüth war früher in der FDP und hat auch für die Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung gearbeitet. (…) Lüth hatte von Beginn an für die AfD gearbeitet, stets an herausgehobener Stelle: Erst als Pressesprecher der Bundespartei, dann ab 2017 für die Bundestagsfraktion. Bereits im April war er freigestellt worden, nachdem er sich in einem Chat mit einer jungen Frau, die der rechten CDU-Strömung Werteunion angehört, unter anderem selbst als „Faschist“ bezeichnet und mit seiner „arischen“ Herkunft geprahlt hatte. Seit August 2020 ist er nach Angaben der AfD kein Parteimitglied mehr.

Grund sind menschenverachtende Aussagen, die der einflussreiche Strippenzieher in einer Bar getätigt haben soll. Dabei fiel auch der Satz, man könne Migranten “erschießen” oder “vergasen”.

Neo-Nazi teenager convicted of preparing acts of terrorism after trying to obtain gun to ‘smash heads’

Boy, then 16, described himself a nine to 10 on the ‘full-on Nazi Hitler’ scale. A teenage neo-Nazi who researched how to convert a blank-firing gun into a lethal weapon has been convicted for preparing acts of terrorism. The 17-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, joined the Feuerkrieg Division (FKD) online before it was banned as a terrorist organisation. Birmingham Crown Court heard that he rated himself as a nine to 10 on the “full-on Nazi Hitler” scale when questioned by police, but the boy denied planning a terror attack in court. The defendant, from Rugby in Warwickshire, said he “had existed in an echo chamber” of far-right chat rooms, amid mounting warnings about online radicalisation. (…) Detective Chief Superintendent Kenny Bell said the teenager had been discovered by a “covert internet investigator” who engaged with him online and allowed police to identify him from anonymous chats. “He was a member of Feuerkrieg Division, clearly with extreme right-wing violent ideology and trying to accelerate a race war,” he added. “Having become part of that group and got online he was discussing with them how he had the capability to source a blank firing firearm and convert it so it could be used.” Investigators did not identify a target for any potential attack, but said they swooped on the teenager because of fears he would be able to create a live firearm. Prosecutor Matthew Brook told the court the boy had asked an adult friend for advice on where he could buy a blank-firing gun. ”Even before joining FKD, the defendant was interested in whether this was a serious group that could be involved in physical action in the real world, rather than being in his words ‘just an online thing,” he added. Birmingham Crown Court heard that the boy was admitted as a member of FKD after doing an online test where he was asked his opinion of Jews and fascism.

Rechte NRW-Verfassungsschützer Auch Teamleiter nahm an Neonazi-Chat teil

Nicht nur in der Polizei, auch im Verfassungsschutz des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen sollen sich Beamte in rechtsextremen Chats ausgetauscht haben. Diese Annahme teilt Innenminister Reul mit. Nun räumt er ein, dass ein Verdächtiger ein wichtiges Team leitete. Zu den drei Mitarbeitern des nordrhein-westfälischen Verfassungsschutzes, die des Rechtsextremismus verdächtigt werden, zählt auch eine ehemalige Führungskraft. Einer der Beschuldigten habe “eine teamleitende Funktion” ausgeübt, sagte Landesinnenminister Herbert Reul der “Rheinischen Post”. Alle drei seien Beamte im gehobenen Dienst gewesen. Inzwischen seien sie versetzt worden. In einem Fall gebe es ein Dienstverbot. Reul hatte am Donnerstag in einer Pressekonferenz mitgeteilt, dass drei Beamte einer Observationsgruppe des NRW-Verfassungsschutzes unter Verdacht stehen, Inhalte mit “islam- und fremdenfeindlicher Konnotation” in einer Chatgruppe und in sozialen Netzwerken ausgetauscht zu haben. Das betroffene Team war für die Beobachtung von Islamisten sowie Rechtsextremisten zuständig und sei inzwischen aufgelöst worden.

But she’s shown no apparent desire to get really stuck into her role, only moving to the White House in June 2017. And a new leaked recording gives further insight into Melania’s mindset as First Lady – which seems to be ‘Why me?’. Recorded secretly by former adviser and friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff and reported by CNN, the audio shows Melania talking about having to decorate the White House – and the critique she’s receiving about Trump’s harrowing policy of separating all migrant children from their parents who cross into America from Mexico. And it’s her comments about the latter that have provoked fury from some who’ve heard it. Melania is heard saying: ” I’m working … my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f*** about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right? OK, and then I do it and I say that I’m working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas and they said, ‘Oh, what about the children that they were separated?’ Give me a f break. Where they were saying anything when Obama did that? I can not go, I was trying get the kid reunited with the mom. I didn’t have a chance — needs to go through the process and through the law. Obama’s policy saw children separated from parents when “authorities had concerns for their well-being” or couldn’t confirm the adult was legally allowed to care for the child.” Under Trump, children were automatically separated from parents, full stop. Another recording saw Melania praise detention centres.

A right-wing #extremist from Germany detained by the #ABW – #terror

The Internal Security Agency – Poland’s special service in charge of counterintelligence and counterterrorism – has detained a German national suspected of participating in an organized crime group implicated in terrorist activities. The group has operated on the territory of Poland and other countries. The man was detained last week, after the officers of the ABW had found he could have possessed firearms and explosives. Jurgen K. (name withheld under Polish privacy laws) would also spread radical, anti-systemic views – mainly via the social media – and endorse extreme right-wing organizations. While searching the man’s workplace and the place he resided, the officers found explosives – 1.2 kilograms of TNT, both liquid and pressed – as well as ammunition, a detonator, a tear gas grenade and electronic storage devices.

Google Maps’ Nazi problem

Google Maps’ reviewing system has provided a platform for Nazi sympathizers and antisemitic harassment for years. It’s a quiet example of the trillion-dollar tech giant’s disinterest in moderation—and a loud warning about how easy it is for the far right to appropriate online services. Most items in Google Maps are treated like businesses which can be owned and managed, reflecting a system fundamentally designed to monetized. While this makes sense for restaurateurs and shopkeepers, it makes less sense for other locations, such as genocide memorials. You don’t have to go far on Google to find evidence of obvious moderation-at-scale issues. Reviews of Holocaust-related apps in the Google Play store, for example, are a miserable library of denialist rhetoric and misinformed debate. For Google Maps, though, the problem goes beyond user-provided comments and reviews. It’s structurally bound to how their mapping system treats memorials. As memorials are structured like businesses and the registration process for a “business” involves a physical mailing, it makes it nearly impossible for memorials to be managed and moderated by responsible parties. Even with the most recent update to Maps, the “attractions” highlighted underscore a five-star rating rubric that’s inappropriate for these venues. The crematorium at Buchenwald concentration camp is open to “business management”, just one example of an entity that cannot be verified according to Google’s process. Yet these ovens have earned 4.6 stars. This is compounded by the fact that Google Maps ignores most memorials. As a case in point, there are thousands of memorials to the victims of national socialism in Germany. Upwards of 80% of them are absent from digital mapping systems, and Google is not alone in this. In Apple Maps, for example, the Munich Documentation Centre for the History of National Socialism, a significant cultural venue in the heart of the city, is marked as a public toilet. The most well-known memorials are listed, often the result of manual additions to Google Maps. Due to the design and its focus on businesses and amenities, though, there is little room for memorial culture to express itself in listings, comments or how information is presentated. Instead, Google Maps is put to use as a platform for Nazi veneration and Holocaust jokes.
