An Italian anti-fascist activist has gone on trial in Hungary for allegedly attacking neo-Nazis, in a case that has sparked tensions between the two EU allies. Ilaria Salis, 39, arrived at the Budapest court accompanied by her father, with Italy’s ambassador and a throng of Italian journalists also in attendance. She left to applause after the court heard testimony from one of the victims and two witnesses. None of the three could personally identify Salis, as their attackers were masked. The case has been front-page news in Italy after Salis appeared in court in January handcuffed and chained. The teacher, from Monza, near Milan, was arrested in Budapest in February 2023 following a counter-demonstration against a neo-Nazi rally. Her case has sparked tensions between Rome and Budapest despite the cordial relations between their far-right prime ministers, Italy’s Giorgia Meloni and Hungary’s Viktor Orbán. Rome has made several official complaints on Salis’s behalf. Prosecutors allege that Salis travelled to Budapest specifically to carry out attacks against “unsuspecting victims identified as, or perceived as, far-right sympathisers” to deter “representatives of the far-right movement”. She was charged with three counts of attempted assault and accused of being part of an extreme leftwing criminal organisation in the wake of a counter-demonstration against an annual neo-Nazi rally. Salis denies the charges – which could see her jailed for up to 11 years – and says she is being persecuted for her political beliefs.

Als werdende Mutter stünde alles, was in dem Video zu sehen ist, für eine Gesellschaft, in der sie ihr Kind nicht großziehen möchte.

Auf Instagram hat ein User Screenshots veröffentlicht und gebeten, die Namen der Personen zu nennen. Es dauerte nicht lange und er hatte sie alle. Mittlerweile sind sie mehr als bekannt und entsprechend wurde auch schon gehandelt. So hat unter anderem die Werbeagentur “Serviceplan” erklärt, sie habe einer der auf dem Video singenden Personen die Kündigung ausgesprochen. Gleiches gilt auch für die junge Frau, die zu Beginn des Clips munter in die Kamera grölte und deutlich zu erkennen war. Denn ihre Chefin, die Hamburger Influencerin Milena Karl (28, 823.000 Follower), feuerte sie “mit sofortiger Wirkung”, nachdem sie das skandalöse Video gesehen hatte.

Großeinsatz in #Hoppegarten – Säure-Anschlag auf AfD-Treffpunkt

Die Täter verschütteten Buttersäure, schlugen Fenster ein, versprühten schwarze Farbe im Innenraum. Anschlag auf ein Restaurant in Hoppegarten, das als Treffpunkt der rechtsextremen AfD bekannt ist! Der Staatsschutz ermittelt. Ausnahmezustand rund um das Restaurant „Mittelpunkt der Erde“ in Hönow (Gemeinde Hoppegarten): Feuerwehrleute aus dem ganzen Landkreis Märkisch-Oderland in Gefahrstoff-Schutzanzügen mussten stinkende Buttersäure binden. Die ätzende Substanz wurde mit schwarzer Farbe an der Fassade und im Innenraum verschüttet. Eine Scheibe wurde eingeschmissen, Glas und Rahmen mit schwarzer Farbe besprüht (…) Die Polizei geht von einem politisch motivierten Anschlag aus – denn der „Mittelpunkt der Erde“ ist als Treffpunkt der rechtsextremen AfD bekannt. Mehrfach trafen sich Parteimitglieder in dem Lokal zu Versammlungen. Auch der gerade wegen Volksverhetzung verurteilte Thüringer AfD-Chef Björn Höcke ist dort schon aufgetreten. Vor anderthalb Wochen hatte ein AfD-Netzwerk in dem Lokal eine „alternative Buchmesse“ abgehalten. Als Wachschutz wurden militante Neonazis der „Kampfgemeinschaft Cottbus“ engagiert. Brandenburgs Verfassungsschutzbericht nennt die „Kampfgemeinschaft“ eine „lose Gruppierung von Rechtsextremisten aus dem gewaltbereiten Hooligan-, Kampfsport-, Security- und Türstehermilieu“.

An zahlreichen AfD-Parteiveranstaltungen nahmen wiederholt bekannte Neonazis teil. Doch eine unmittelbare Unterstützung für Neonazigruppen aus der Region konnte bisher nicht nachgewiesen werden. Nun zeigen Recherchen vom „Antifaschistischen Monitor Berlin“, dass die Gründung des Berliner Ablegers der Neonazi-Partei „Der III. Weg“ im AfD-Restaurant in Hönow stattfand. Der „III. Weg“ im „Mittelpunkt der Erde“ Laut eigenen Aussagen gründete sich der Berliner Stützpunkt vom „III. Weg“ am 29.03.2015. Die Bilder der Veranstaltung wirken sehr offensiv. Fahnen und Banner mit dem Parteilogo werden offen zur Schau gestellt. Probleme scheinen die Neonazis nicht zu befürchten. Nach Recherchen vom „Antifaschistischen Monitor Berlin“ fand die Gründung in den Räumen vom „Mittelpunkt der Erde“ statt. Das Hönower Restaurant liegt nur wenige Dutzend Meter hinter der Berliner Stadtgrenze und war im Jahr 2015 noch nicht als Treffpunkt der extremen Rechten bekannt. Ab 2017 wurde es ein wichtiger Ort für die Berliner AfD und dessen völkischen Parteiflügel bundesweit. Anscheinend gibt es im „Mittelpunkt der Erde“ eine lange Tradition der Unterstützung für extrem rechte Organisationen, die auch offen neonazistische Kräfte einschließt.

In Wertheim hat sich am Samstag ein Bündnis für Demokratie formiert. Der Grund: eine rechtsextremistische Veranstaltung auf dem Marktplatz. Die Polizei sicherte ab. In Wertheim (Main-Tauber-Kreis) war am Samstag ein Großaufgebot der Polizei in der Stadt. Der Grund waren zwei Veranstaltungen mit Konfliktpotenzial: Auf dem Marktplatz fand am späten Nachmittag das sogenannte Volksfest des vom Verfassungsschutz als gesichert rechtsextremistisch eingestuften Magazins “COMPACT” statt. Gekommen waren laut Polizei rund 150 Teilnehmende. Nach eigenen Angaben will das Magazin mit solch einer Veranstaltung dabei helfen, “die Ampelparteien zu entmachten”. Dagegen hatte sich ein Demonstrationszug und eine “Kaffeetafel” am Nachmittag formiert, bestehend aus einem breiten Bündnis aus Politik, Vereinen, Organisationen und Gewerkschaften. Der Titel der Gegendemo: “Wertheim zeigt Gesicht! Für Demokratie gegen Rechtsextremismus”. Hierzu kamen laut Polizei rund 550 Menschen.
