Marine veteran Thomas Schumacher, 46, was arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, and police say he was also in possession of prohibited weapons. Officers searching the Wickenburg home of a motorcycle club member for child sex abuse material found Nazi paraphernalia and multiple guns, including a machine gun that was being built, court documents released Thursday said. The investigation into Thomas Schumacher, 46, a Marine veteran, started in June when the Peoria Police Department received multiple cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about Schumacher uploading videos of children being sexually exploited to two cloud storage accounts, court paperwork said. (…) About 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, Peoria police’s Special Assignments Unit searched Schumacher’s home on Mohave Street near Jefferson Street. That’s where police said they found multiple handguns and AR-15 rifles, and Schumacher was building a machine gun and a suppressor. Court documents said officers found multiple items showing he was a member of the Peckerwoods MC, as well as various items linked to Nazis. The Peckerwood name is widely associated with white supremacists and often tied to Aryan Brotherhood-affiliated groups. “It appears Thomas had access to a large amount of ammunition, guns and prohibited weapons, making him a danger to the community,” police wrote in their probable cause statement. When police tried to talk to Schumacher, he tried to avoid officers and went into the garage. They then took him into custody. Police said Schumacher gave them his phone number and email address, which were linked to the cloud storage. When officers told him they were there for child exploitation videos after reading his rights, he said he did not want to talk.
