German singer Alice Merton filed a lawsuit against Kanye West for alleged copyright infringement. She refused to allow him a sample of her song due to his antisemitism remarks. Kanye West is being hit with a copyright lawsuit by a German singer. The controversial rapper is being sued for copyright infringement by musician Alice Merton for allegedly using an “unauthorized sample” of her song Blindside on his song, Gun to My Head featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Kid Cudi. The song is a part of his Vultures 1 album with Ty that was released in December 2023. According to TMZ, Alice said she penned and recorded Blindside in 2022 and initially discovered Kanye sampled the track when she heard the song. Then in February 2024, Alice said that Kanye asked to use her song Blindside through BMG Rights Management but she declined the request.
