A man who draped himself in a Nazi flag, brandished a chainsaw and posted videos of himself mixing chemicals and threatening to make a napalm flamethrower, was said this week said to display “a high potential for harm”. Cameron Hotchkiss, 22, pleaded guilty at Stirling Sheriff Court to charges of common law and statutory breach of the peace. He admitted that he acted in a disorderly, threatening and aggressive manner in Westwood Crescent and Edzell Drive, in Cornton, on June 24, 2023, wearing a flag “adorned in National Socialist and SS symbols”, brandishing an “active” chainsaw, and chasing a person with the device. The identity of this person was said to be unknown to prosecutors. He also admitted that a month later, on July 24 and 26, 2023, he repeatedly posted videos on a Snapchat group threatening violence, stating he was making chemical weapons and threatening to make a napalm flamethrower, all while mixing chemicals and setting the chemicals and a liquid alight. He also went on to send repeated Snapchat messages on August 22 and 23, 2023, making offensive remarks and threatening violence.
