A reputed white supremist from Gloversville who pleaded guilty last year for his role in plotting a Johnstown bank heist was sentenced to more than three years in federal prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Friday. Luke Kenna, 44, was given a 41-month prison sentence and three years of post-release supervision for conspiring to commit bank robbery and illegally possessing a firearm — crimes he pleaded guilty to last August. Kenna, who was previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence, discussed plans to rob a North Comrie Avenue bank with co-conspirators Michael Brown Jr. of Virginia and Brian Tierney of Pennsylvania in late 2022 through an encrypted group chat titled with the Nazi “SS” symbol. But, the plot was ultimately foiled on Nov. 26 of that year, when Gloversville police stopped Kenna along Bleecker Street and discovered he was in possession of a firearm, body armor and radio jammer. Authorities subsequently seized Kenna’s phone and uncovered the group chat. (…) Before joining Operation Werewolf, a subsidiary of the Wolves of Vinland white supremist group, Kenna reportedly struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. He previously worked as a bar manager and later a private contractor for the Kingsboro Golf Club before being terminated for “gross misconduct,” a former employee previously told The Daily Gazette Family of Newspapers.
