House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested in an interview this week that she would have traded blows with the rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6. “Well, I’m pretty tough,” the California Democrat told USA Today when asked if she was frightened by the rioters, some of whom made it all the way into her office. “I’m a street fighter. They would have had a battle on their hands.” “I would have had these,” Pelosi jokingly added while holding up her 4-inch heels. The 81-year-old said she was never personally afraid because of the security around her at all times, but she said she was “afraid for everybody else, and I’ll never forgive them the trauma that they caused to the staff and the members.”
