Nach rassistischen Beleidigungen im Internet gegen den Fußballprofi Romaine Sawyers hat die Polizei einen Verdächtigen festgenommen. Sawyers, der vom karibischen Inselstaat St. Kitts und Nevis stammt, spielt für West Bromwich Albion. Der Premier-League-Klub hatte der Polizei gemeldet, Sawyers sei während West Broms 0:5-Niederlage gegen Manchester City am Dienstag online beleidigt worden. Die zuständige West Midlands Police teilte auf Twitter mit, sie habe einen 49-jährigen Mann aus dem knapp 20 Kilometer entfernten Kingswinford festgenommen, um ihn zu befragen. “Unser für Hassverbrechen im Fußball zuständiger Kriminalbeamter untersucht auch noch einen weiteren Bericht über rassistische Kommentare gegen denselben Fußballer”, hieß es weiter. “Wir werden Rassismus nicht tolerieren.” Am Freitag hatte der Chelsea-Profi Reece James rassistische Beleidigungen, die ihm auf Instagram geschickt wurden, öffentlich gemacht. Dazu schrieb der 21-Jährige: “Es muss sich etwas ändern.” Chelsea nahm am Samstag auf der Vereinswebsite dazu Stellung. “Dieser Klub findet Rassismus und alle Formen diskriminierenden Verhaltens absolut inakzeptabel”, schrieb der neue Verein von Trainer Thomas Tuchel. “Wir verurteilen das aufs Schärfste.”

Who Are #Boogaloos, Who Were Visible at the #Capitol and Later Rallies? – #terror
Among the most visible ideological adherents at state capitol protests after Jan. 6 and in Richmond, Virginia, on Jan. 18 for pro-Second Amendment rallies were people involved with the boogaloo movement, easily recognizable in most cases because of Hawaiian-themed shirts and masks along with their weapons, signatures of boogaloo followers. The shirts are a reference to “big luau,” which is an adaptation of the word “boogaloo.” Following the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol that resulted in five deaths, large swaths of the American right have continued to falsely claim that former President Trump won the election and that President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party “stole” it. Right-wing protests were also slated for state capitols the weekend of Jan. 17, and boogaloo adherents (self-proclaimed “boogaloo boys”) were among those either planning the protests or planning to go. (…) Regardless, rallies and protests have continued across the country in support of false claims that the election was stolen. Boogaloo boys participated in the rally in Richmond, distinct in Hawaiian shirts and other Hawaiian-themed clothing and gear, but a few also sported Black Lives Matter (BLM) patches and others rainbow flag patches, in alleged support of the BLM movement and LGBTQ rights. It’s unclear how much of this support is genuine, and how much is simple political opportunism as the movement attempts to muddy ideological boundaries in order to triage their image and draw in more adherents. The thread that binds boogaloo adherents is their belief that the country is headed toward a civil war – and that mass civil conflict of this kind is the only way for the country to right its path. These antigovernment beliefs have found appeal beyond the movement’s racist roots, making it adaptable and easily spread.

Jack Posobiec Central in Spreading Russian Intelligence-Led #MacronLeaks Hack
Twitter personality Jack Posobiec worked alongside other American far-right extremists in amplifying the fruits of an apparent Russian military intelligence (GRU) hack intended to disrupt the outcome of the French elections in May 2017. The hack – waged to target Emmanuel Macron, then a candidate for president, and benefit his opponent, the far-right politician Marine Le Pen – spawned a series of criminal charges in 2020. On Oct. 19, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI charged six Russian military intelligence hackers from GRU with cybercrimes including “spearphishing campaigns and related hack-and-leak efforts targeting French President Macron [and his political party] … prior to the 2017 French elections.” Posobiec’s contribution to the effort to spread the hacked material through Twitter follows a pattern of behavior by the influential far-right activist. It bears superficial similarities to two other online campaigns he promoted. The first is 2016’s #Pizzagate, which manipulated the GRU-hacked emails of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chair to create disinformation falsely linking Democratic Party officials to pedophilia. The other is a coordinated social media campaign targeting the personal life and business relationships of Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, that he promoted in October 2020. This campaign happened around the time authorities issued charges related to the hacking of Macron and his allies and before Hunter Biden announced that the DOJ is investigating his taxes. Rechtsextremist versammelt Sachsen zur “Rodeldemo” am Fichtelberg
Rechtsextremist Sven Liebich aus Halle/Saale lud am heutigen Samstag zu einer Rodeldemo in Oberwiesenthal ein. Der Bürgermeister von Oberwiesenthal, Mirko Ernst, untersagte dies allerdings. Der Grund: Die Rodelhänge sind privat und können nicht für Demonstrationen genutzt werden. Außerdem läge auch zu viel Schnee. Daraufhin genehmigte die Versammlungsbehörde die Demonstration auf dem Zentralparkplatz P1. Zu Beginn waren zirka 25 Teilnehmer anwesend. Nach der Begrüßung durch Veranstalter Sven Liebich, bei der direkt anwesende Pressevertreter als “Lügenpresse” beschimpft wurden, ging es im weiteren Verlauf um die Corona-Beschränkungen, speziell die Versammlungs- und Reisefreiheit, die dadurch eingeschränkt sind. Er zog dabei immer wieder einen Vergleich zur DDR und der Stasi.

“Black Lives Matter” für Friedensnobelpreis vorgeschlagen
Die Anti-Rassismus-Bewegung “Black Lives Matter” (“Schwarze Leben zählen”) ist für den diesjährigen Friedensnobelpreis eingereicht worden. Das teilte der norwegische Linkenpolitiker Petter Eide in Oslo mit. Er habe den Vorschlag eingereicht, weil sich “Black Lives Matter” zu einer der weltweiten Bewegungen im Kampf gegen Diskriminierung entwickelt habe.

White Supremacist Group Patriot Front Seen Marching Through D.C. Friday Morning
A photo of the group marching in D.C. in 2020. The white nationalist group Patriot Front is an offshoot of a supremacist organization that marched in Charlottesville during Unite the Right in 2017. A group of a few dozen men wearing small shields and carrying flags associated with the white supremacist group Patriot Front were seen marching on the National Mall towards the Capitol Friday morning. The Southern Poverty Law Center describes the Texas-based Patriot Front as an “image-obsessed organization” focused on a fascist agenda and “theatrical rhetoric.” The group has chapters across the U.S. and broke off from white-nationalist group Vanguard America following the deadly Charlottesville “Unite the Right” rally in 2017. ProPublica describes Patriot Front as “perhaps the most active white supremacist group in the nation.” Footage taken by ProPublica reporter Lydia DePillis shows the group marching in formation, wearing face coverings, and carrying upside down American flags (which is historically used to convey distress or great danger). The group was heard shouting “reclaim America” and unleashed red and blue smoke. The group held a banner saying “For the life of our nation” in all caps, as members recently did at a government building in Chicago. This is not the first time the group has made an appearance in the nation’s capital. More than a hundred Patriot Front members marched from Virginia to D.C. last February and were escorted by D.C. Police. On Friday, police were reportedly seen monitoring the group, as well. “MPD was made aware previously that demonstrations were to take place in the District today and provided the notification of potential traffic closures as a response,” said a D.C. police spokesperson in a statement. “At this time, there have been no arrests made in connection with the ongoing demonstrations. Also, the Metropolitan Police Department does not act in the capacity of private security for any group.”
