Das berichtet das Nachrichtenportal Politico unter Berufung auf ein 300-seitiges Schreiben der Aufsichtsbehörde für europäische politische Parteien und Stiftungen (APPF). Laut Politico hat APPF-Direktor Pascal Schonard das Verfahren am Mittwoch mit einem Brief an den Rat der EU eingeleitet. Darin heißt es, es gebe Belege, die „Zweifel an der Einhaltung“ der EU-Grundwerte durch die ESN aufkommen ließen. Parteien müssen nach Artikel 2 des EU-Vertrags Werte wie Menschenwürde, Demokratie, Rechtsstaatlichkeit und Minderheitenrechte achten. Wie Politico schreibt, führt das Schreiben Gerichtsurteile sowie Screenshots aus sozialen Medien von Abgeordneten und Funktionären als Beweise an. Diese enthielten anti-migrantische, antisemitische und gegen LGBT-Personen gerichtete Aussagen, darunter Aufrufe zur „Remigration“ und Gleichsetzungen von Homosexualität mit Pädophilie. Zitiert wird unter anderem ein Beitrag des polnischen Politikers Tomasz Michał Grabarczyk von der Konföderation/Nowa Nadzieja, der Israelis pauschal als „Verbrecher-Nation“ bezeichnete.
