In the clip, Al-Ani can be heard saying in German, “Germany, take a stand.” The video has since circulated on Reddit. “Erika” was one of the most widely used German marching songs of the era, and its composer Herms Niel was a member of the Nazi Party, working within the Reich Labour Service, an organization tied to militarization and Nazi indoctrination.
