BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN DECLARES ‘WAR’ AGAINST TRUMP AT DEFIANT TOUR OPENER IN MINNEAPOLIS

“The America that I love, that’s been a beacon of hope and liberty around the world, is in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless, and treasonous administration,” Springsteen said. Before a single note of music was played at the opening night of the 2026 Land of Hope and Dreams Tour, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a typical Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band concert. In a break from decades of tradition, the band walked onto the stage in total darkness, visible to the crowd only in hazy silhouette. Springsteen came out last, and addressed the capacity crowd at the Target Center in Minneapolis, speaking much like he did at the city’s No Kings rally a few days earlier. (..) As final word “war” echoed through the arena, the stage lights flicked on. Springsteen and the band emerged from the darkness, and they ripped into Edwin Starr’s 1970 classic “War,” which they hadn’t played since America last started a Middle Eastern war in 2003. It was a fiery rendition featuring special guest Tom Morello on guitar, allowing Springsteen to roam the stage instrument-free, and it transitioned right into an impassioned “Born in the U.S.A.,” a song Springsteen recently allowed the ACLU to use in their battle to overturn Trump’s anti-birthright citizenship executive order. (In remarkable timing, the Supreme Court was a little over 12 hours away from hearing oral arguments in the landmark case about whether people born in the U.S.A. are citizens.)

Pussy Riot protests US tech company Ubiquiti for ‘powering Russian war crimes’

Russian feminist group Pussy Riot staged a protest at American technology company Ubiquiti’s Manhattan headquarters for “powering Russian war crimes,” co-founder Nadya Tolokonnikova reported on March 27. In a video posted to X, Tolokonnikova presented footage drawn from multiple Russian military Telegram channels. The clips appear to show Russian soldiers with Ubiquiti Wi-Fi bridges, alongside clips of appeals from Russian soldiers seeking donations to acquire the equipment, and step-by-step guides for other Russian soldiers on how to install them. “We demand that (Ubiquiti) obey U.S. sanctions laws, acknowledge (their product’s) use by the Russian army, and work with Ukraine to stop this use,” Tolokonnikova said. In early February, entrepreneur Elon Musk’s company SpaceX cut off Starlink access in Ukraine except for those on a “white list” approved by Ukraine’s Defense Ministry, dealing a huge blow to the Russian military. Wi-Fi bridges like those made by Ubiquiti can relay internet connectivity from wherever it exists to frontline positions. However, they are not a direct substitute for Starlink because they don’t provide satellite access and are more vulnerable to disruption. Ubiquiti agreed in 2014 to pay more than $500,000 to settle U.S. allegations that it had violated sanctions on Iran by allowing its wireless equipment to reach the country through overseas intermediaries. Tolokonnikova said that hours after Pussy Riot staged their protest at Ubiquiti’s Manhattan headquarters that its partner company, Square, deactivated the account the group uses to sell merchandise at their events. “Going after Russian feminist activists in exile, but not after Russian war criminals. Cringe,” she wrote.

Rassistischer Zwischenfall Falkenberg – Demos-Institut sieht in rechtsextremen Parolen keinen Einzelfall

Nazis in Your Neighborhood: Anti-fascist researchers out an extremist music label operating in the Tenderloin

Based in a supportive housing building, the one-man distributor sells fascist music and merch from all over the world. Charles McLaughlin runs Brotherhood of Light Recordings, a label that promotes and distributes Neo-Nazi and fascist music from Poland to Korea. For years, he has operated out of an apartment in a small Tenderloin supportive housing building.  Since 2009, Brotherhood of Light Recordings has pushed out hundreds of records that use Nazi symbols and ideas. McLaughlin also makes his own music under the names Panzerjager, Sunchariot, and Svetovid, among others. In this capacity, he has joined forces on a number of albums with other Neo-Nazi and far-right artists and labels that platform white supremacist speech and violent rhetoric. McLaughlin’s identity and work was revealed last month by Bay161, a group of anonymous anti-fascist researchers who document evidence of far-right extremism in the Bay Area. Gazetteer SF reached out to McLaughlin via his email address on the Brotherhood of Light Recordings site, and visited his purported address in the Tenderloin. This reporter was not allowed access to his unit due to the building’s visitor policy, but a staff member confirmed that McLaughlin lives there. In an email, McLaughlin said he owns Brotherhood of Light Recordings but claimed that he “restarted” the brand in 2017 to be a “non-political label that releases various kinds of music.” The SF native also said he is a “hermit” who lives with “little to no socialization” outside of his family. “I release various bands with various sorts of ideals and political views, but all political views of these bands are not of the label. Brotherhood of Light Recordings is not a political label and does not promote any specific ideology, despite how it may be perceived currently,” he claimed.  However, Brotherhood of Light Recordings is a clear and key player in the far-right underground metal, industrial, and noise music scenes. This extremist subculture relies heavily on a DIY approach to publishing, with independent distributors like McLaughlin sourcing and/or creating a variety of cassettes, CDs, vinyl records, and merchandise. McLaughlin currently sells Neo-Nazi art from around the world, including the US, Argentina, Austria, Finland, and France. Genres in this underground scene include National Socialist Black Metal, racist and anti-Semitic “Rock Against Communism,” and “Neo-folk” music that veils fascist ideology in Norse, pagan, and historical pastoral imagery. Defenders of these genres often claim that offensive lyrics and imagery are used for shock value, rather than as a true expression of beliefs. However, McLaughlin’s history and collaborations explicitly reference Neo-Nazi and white supremacist ideology.  Brotherhood of Light Recordings’ recent discography includes the band Brahmastra’s “SS Tibet” (a reference to a 1930s Nazi expedition) and music from the group 1389, whose name echoes the same year that hundreds of Jews were massacred in a pogrom in Prague. Some acts promoted by McLaughlin are far less subtle, like the band Rassenschande — the word for the Nazi party’s anti-race-mixing program — who dropped a 2021 track named “Nazis in Your Neighborhood.”  McLaughlin’s own music, meanwhile, also leans into similar Nazi references. His band Panzerjager is named after the Wehrmacht’s anti-tank vehicle and uses historical Nazi imagery. McLaughlin’s other band Sunchariot features lyrics mourning the “death of western light” and lauding the “banner of the 12-armed sun,” a specific nod to the “Black Sun” hate symbol frequently used by Neo-Nazi groups. He has released his music through companies like Winter Solace Productions, Defeat Never Victory Forever Records, and the far-right Polish label Werewolf Promotion, all of which promote Neo-Nazi materials. McLaughlin also promotes graphic artists such as H8 Propagand Art, which specializes in Nazi and “Neo-folk” imagery

Mayor of Marseille opposes Kanye West concert over ‘unapologetic Nazism’

Benoît Payan said the rapper is “not welcome” to perform at his scheduled concert at the Velodrome stadium on 11 June. The mayor of the southern city of Marseille, France’s second-biggest city, does not want American rapper Kanye “Ye” West anywhere near his city. Mayor Benoît Payan has opposed West’s visit, after the controversial singer announced a concert at the Vélodrome stadium on 11 June – West’s only scheduled French gig. In a message posted on X, Payan said: “I refuse to let Marseille become a showcase for those who promote hatred and unapologetic Nazism. Kanye West is not welcome at the Vélodrome, our temple of living together and of all Marseillais.” Payan is not alone in wanting West to stay away. The CRIF (Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in France) believes that welcoming “someone who has professed his admiration for Hitler raises a real moral question”. Previously, West had his Australian visa cancelled and was threatened with immediate arrest in Brazil. In recent years, West has made numerous racist and anti-Semitic comments, going so far as he posting a picture of KKK robes, rescinding his previous apology to the Jewish community, declaring himself “a Nazi” and asserting that he has “dominion over his wife”. West also started selling swastika t-shirts, and released a song titled ‘Heil Hitler’, in which he praised the Nazi leader.
