A man was arrested on suspicion of terror offences before he boarded a flight at Stansted Airport yesterday. The man, 44, is suspected of being motivated by extreme right-wing ideology, similar to another man, 26, who was arrested before catching a flight just two days earlier, on Friday. Police said the two incidents are not connected. The man arrested yesterday is in custody after being detained at the airport in Essex by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command. He was held on suspicion of possession of an article for a purpose connected with terrorism, and collecting information of a kind likely to be useful for terrorism. Police said there is not believed to be any imminent risk to the public. The younger man, a UK national, was held on suspicion of preparation of acts of terrorism.
