‘Random’ Murder of Muslim Man Linked to ‘Neo-Nazi Death Cult’: Report

A man charged with the “random” killing of a Toronto man has several online connections to Order of Nine Angles, a group an expert described to VICE News as a “neo-Nazi death cult.” A man who has been arrested and charged with the seemingly random killing of a Muslim man in Toronto appears to have ties to a neo-Nazi occult group. Mohamed-Aslim Zafis, a 58-year-old Muslim man, was sitting outside a Toronto mosque when he attacked and stabbed to death on September 12. He was the second person of colour to be stabbed to death in Toronto over just several days. On Friday police arrested and charged 34-year-old Guilherme (William) Von Neutegem with first-degree murder in connection to Zafis’s death. In a press conference announcing the arrest, Toronto Police Inspector Hank Idsinga said Von Neutegem “simply walked up to (Zafis) and stabbed him.” Police said it is too early to exclude Von Neutegem from the investigation into the killing of Rampreet Singh who was stabbed to death just days earlier.

“There does not appear to be any motive and there does not appear to be any known relationship between the accused and the victim,” said Idsinga. However, as first reported by the Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN), social media pages connected to Von Neutegem point to a connection to the Nazi-affiliated group known as the Order of Nine Angles or O9A/ONA. Evan Balgord, the Executive Director of the CAHN, described O9A to VICE News as “a neo-Nazi death cult.” “It is kind of concerning that the Toronto Police didn’t draw any connection here,” said Balgord. “Putting aside O9A is not something a lot of people know about, there were other examples of neo-Nazi imagery on his Instagram account. This includes the black sun, which is about as unmistakable (of an) neo-Nazi identifier as a swastika is.” CAHN put out an article of their findings on Friday night. A Toronto Police spokesperson told VICE News they will “not be commenting” on if they’re investigating the connections between Von Neutegem and the neo-Nazi group or if they are planning on investigating the murder as a hate crime. The social media profiles all link back to each other and use both names that police used for Von Neutegem (William and Guilherme.) The age, location, and unique name match up and are all cross-linked. Von Neutegem, at times, uses both William or Guilherme to identify himself on the same social media page. Balgord said to ensure CANH didn’t misidentify someone they checked through databases for multiple William and Guilherme Von Neutegem’s in Toronto to “demonstrate to our to our satisfaction, that that this was the same person.” VICE News followed similar steps to verify.

Video shows LAPD officer shooting protester in groin at close range

Newly released body camera video from protests in Los Angeles this summer shows L.A. police officers yank a large protest sign from the hands of a man in a Hollywood intersection, shove him backward as he puts his hands up, then shoot him in the groin with a projectile at close range. Ben Montemayor, a 28-year-old filmmaker, suffered serious injuries to his testicles as a result and was rushed into emergency surgery, he told The Times in the days that followed. The video raises new questions about the LAPD’s tactics during the summer’s tumultuous protests, particularly in regard to their use of 40-millimeter projectiles — which, by policy, are not meant to be used on individuals for “mere noncompliance.” “In some ways, it’s even worse than we thought,” said Dan Stormer, one of Montemayor’s attorneys. “It’s not often you see something like this that is so cut and dried, but it’s pretty brutal.” The LAPD launched an investigation last month into Montemayor’s shooting, citing a June 11 article in The Times about Montemayor and other protesters who were injured by police during several days of demonstrations and unrest in late May and early June. They released the video Friday. Montemayor was injured as groups of officers in riot gear moved to establish skirmish lines and take control of the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Ivar Avenue about 2:40 p.m. June 2.

AP source: Envelope addressed to White House contained #ricin

Federal officials intercepted an envelope addressed to the White House that contained the poison ricin, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Saturday. The letter was intercepted at a government facility that screens mail addressed to the White House and President Donald Trump, the official said. A preliminary investigation indicated it tested positive for ricin, a poison found naturally in castor beans, the official said.

Garda concerned over increasing participation of far-right in anti-mask protests

Some activists are believed to be members of the street protest group Generation Identity. Gardaí are increasingly concerned by the presence of far-right extremists at anti-mask rallies in Dublin and the possibility of serious violence breaking out at future events. Violence has occurred at two anti-mask rallies in recent weeks, including an incident last Saturday which left a counterprotester requiring hospital treatment. On August 22nd, a small number of far-right agitators attended a large anti-mask protest outside the Custom House armed with a variety of weapons including iron bars and extendable batons. Despite a large Garda presence, these men, who wore masks and surgical gloves, clashed with counterdemonstrators, leaving one requiring medical treatment. Gardaí believe some of the men involved in the violence were members of the Irish branch of Generation Identity, a now seemingly defunct white nationalist organisation which focused on street activism. Generation Identity has a history of sending recruits to military-style training camps in Europe for fitness training and lessons in hand to hand combat. Gardaí are aware of some Irish far right activists boasting online about attending training camps but it is not clear if these are the same camps organised by Generation Identity or if the activists attended them at all.

Militant neo-nazi group surfaces in #Colorado – #atomwaffendivision #awd #terror #nationalsocialistorder #nso

The Atomwaffen Division, a neo-nazi group which has been linked to five murders, has disbanded and rebranded itself as the National Socialist Order. Neo-nazi stickers placed on business windows in this city indicate the white supremacy group formerly known as Atomwaffen is attempting to reestablish itself after several of its members were arrested by the FBI this past year. The National Socialist Order (NSO), which has been born out of the now-defunct Atomwaffen Division, has established a new website and social media accounts to share its racists’ views. The white supremacist group calls for violence and civil war within the United States. The Atomwaffen Division was linked to five murders before it disbanded after federal authorities arrested several members of the group this past spring. 9Wants to Know obtained a Colorado Springs Police report describing how a man dressed in camouflage pants was seen putting up a racist NSO sticker on a business window over a Black Lives Matter poster. In the report from September 3, the owner of a targeted LGBTQ-owned business describes the man as “wearing a short sleeve, tight white t-shirt with aggressive red and black lettering on it, a mask with bones on the face with just his eyes showing, camo pants tucked into combat boots…” The sticker contained an image of Adolf Hitler, a swastika and an email for recruitment.

Holocaust memorials vandalized with Nazi symbols in Russia, Ukraine

Three swastikas were discovered on a note at the former Bogdanovka concentration camp. Swastikas were painted this week on two monuments to Holocaust victims in Ukraine and one in Russia, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported on Friday. The outlet said that three swastikas were discovered on a note at the former Bogdanovka concentration camp in southern Ukraine and intended for Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelensky, former politician Yevhen Chervonenko and Eduard Dolinsky, director of the Jewish Committee Ukrainian. “Come to your senses, please stop, because the sale of Ukrainian land will quickly lead you to the Holocaust,” the note said. Additional swastikas were engraved and painted on a marble monument commemorating the murder of 54,000 Jews during the Holocaust, Dolinsky wrote on Facebook Tuesday. Meanwhile, near the city of Kirovgrad, some 100 miles from Bogdanovka, another set of swastikas were spray-painted on a marble plaque commemorating the mass execution of Jews of thousands of Jews in 1942. “Death to the kikes” read a message at the foot of the monument, according to JTA. Police are currently looking for suspects connected to the two incidents, the Ukrainian National Police wrote in a statement. In Russia, police arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly painting a swastika and pouring yellow paint on a monument for Holocaust victims in Aksay, a village outside the city of Rostov-on. -le-Don, near the border with Ukraine.
